It is amazing what some bright colors and retro design furniture can do. I believe this is an old Holiday Inn Express that have been updated - and it works. Staff are nice and welcoming, very helpfull in directions and service. Breakfast is what it is, nothing special, but accomodates your need. The pool well it is there but dont...

Very Nice hotel. Fantastic deco, renovated few months ago. With beautyful murals made by talented L.A artist Robert Vargas. The rooms are really confortable, modern and cosy. Well located, with many restaurants around. Very nice staff. The only thing is breakfast could be better. But it's a great experience, and might really cool in summer time with patio bar.

I was happy to get a suite, as I needed two rooms, and renting two separate rooms can be prohibitive. Mattress was super comfy. This is an old motel, refurbished with nice new paint, wallpaper, furniture, fixtures, carpeting, murals, etc. Clean and well-done, interesting offbeat modern decor. Basic complimentary hotel breakfast. Old elevator, and every room door opens to outdoors,...

Water and cookies upon arrival. Plenty of valet parking with in and out privileges. The decor of the hotel is very hipster , like 70s cool. The room was clean and new and breakfast was good and included. 1 mile from the boardwalk, walking distance to food and shops. I stayed in a city view and the traffic news was...

I had Just one day in LA so chose this hotel as I did not want to rent a car or stay by airport . I arrived after midnight and took an Uber for under $20. The room was bright and cheerful so a nice oasis after a long flight . The decor is funky retro, fun. The hotel is...

Well, I don't know what else to say other than this place is incredible. Fun, funky, just delightful. Rubi at the front desk is a gem, as well as valets Juan and Oscar. The breakfast is delicious. Comfy beds, nice showers, a good and clean environment. If you are in Venice, beach is a mile walk to the west. I...

We stayed at this hotel for 6 days and five nights. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted in a very sincere manner by Miss Katarina. The housekeeping staff was beyond any reproach. Mr. Antonio and MIss Aracely were truly a pleasure to greet every morning. The parking attendants ( Mr. Juan and Mr. Rudy) were always attentive to...

I have never stayed at a hotel that has made me feel so "hip" (for lack of better words). The design and decor of this property are truly unlike anywhere else I've ever stayed at in the past. Color - color is everywhere! The curtains at valet area, the room key its key packet and the room's accent wall and...

We only stayed one night in Venice, but LOVED the Kinney! Free breakfast, free on-street parking? Are you kidding? In a beach town, both of these are wins! To top it all off, the room was super clean, super cute, and lots of creative details! It's not easy to find a hotel room that doesn't have an obnoxious air conditioner....

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
