Even though I hated this place, I want to be fair. The staff was friendly and helpful. I give the staff and food high marks. The property itself is located in a ghetto. Garbage surrounds the property. If you stay here, bring a gun. There is a naked guy who runs through the lobby. It is so overpriced it is...

Charles, Venice Beach is an eclectic, rebellious, and unconventional neighborhood and on your stay its uniqueness manifests as a unclothed man streaking across our parking area. Having watched the video of this event, I understand your concern. Our staff and security team ensured that the individual did not enter the building and watching the video it appears he was taking...

i'd stayed here for 1 night. The room is small but clean. Wifi in room is not good, signal is too weak, maybe because my room is far from wifi router. Breakfast and dinner at Barlo restourant are good, its verry frendly staff here. I'm enjoyd it. Next time maybe will stay here again and go to rooftop lounge and...

I am glad that you had a good stay at the hotel. I apologize that you had problems with the Wifi. I sent you a private message via Trip Advisor earlier this week to confirm your room number, but have not gotten a response. If you have the time to send me an e-mail at the address below letting me...

We booked this as our last night in L.A. and when we arrived, we pretty much saw immediately, it was not really the place for us. The area of town seemed a bit dicey to us, and the clubs were kitty-corner to the hotel. The valet was nice as we checked in the very tiny drive-in area but you could...

We are disappointed that we did not get a chance to host this guest, and that we caused an inconvenience in their travel. We realize that our offbeat and quirky neighborhood might not be the right fit for everyone, but we are happy they were able to find accommodations to their liking. We are also very happy to see that...

I've lived in Venice / Los Angeles on and off for years and love the area. I've had drinks on the roof at The Erwin before, but this was my first time staying at the hotel. I was in town for work for a week and needed to find a convenient place that fit my smaller budget. The price was...

I was booked this hotel through a service that I use. What a complete surprise!!! I was able to see the ocean from my room balcony, Venice Beach has its own vibe and the Erwin is no exception. Friendly staff, fantastic restaurant, and a 5 star anyway you want to look at it. My exceptionally clean and modern room, had...

Stayed on a room on the 6th floor, and had a great stay. Hotel staff were super friendly (even accommodating a very early checkin request). The views of the ocean from the balcony made the stay. The rooftop bar offered an amazing vista to enjoy a cocktail, and the staff were extremely hospitable and friendly. The hotel room featured emphasis...

I am glad we were able to make your stay enjoyable and thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I agree with you on the views from the 6th floor. I sometimes go to a 6th floor room first thing in the morning and sit on the balcony watching the ocean and drinking my coffee. We look...

Since the moment I arrived all the staff was really nice and helpful. The room was neat and comfortable and the hotel in general was really cool. +The food wasn't bad at all, really good breakfast, sadly I could not try the lunch.

Luciano, Happy to read that you had an enjoyable stay and enjoyed breakfast. Just to clarify we are not open for lunch. On Saturday and Sunday we do serve breakfast until 1 PM, but Barlo is only open for Breakfast and Dinner. There are plenty of dining options near the hotel that are open for lunch. We hope to see...

The Erwin is centrally located, overlooking Venice Beach, and is the perfect place to deal with your jet lag. The staff are friendly and competent, the rooms tastefully if idiosyncratically decorated, and the overall atmosphere charming. There's a rooftop bar overlooking the Pacific, and a breakfast room on the ground floor serving high-quality American cuisine. Minor niggle - the fridge...

This place has the style of a boutique style hotel without having or paying for all the high end finishes. The staff were welcoming and fun, the front desk has a little sign that says 'Hi, My name is _ _ _ _ and I feel rebellious when...". I loved that friendliness with some personality. This is a great place...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
