Designed by Thierry Gaugain, Mama Shelter LA perches six-stories over the beautiful freaks and sputtering neon of Hollywood Blvd, the 70 rooms are warm havens with comfortable 5-star bedding. For the restaurant, More Mama offers a simple and flavorsome cuisine, inspired by French and American traditions so that you feel at home. Mama’s rooftop allows you to take in the sights of all of Los Angeles with a near 360 degrees view from the Hollywood sign to Downtown to South Bay to the Westside. She’s located blocks away from the peaked roof and cement celeb handprints at the Chinese Theatre along the Walk of Fame, as well as countless boutiques and bars, burrito stands and vegan restaurants. The experiment that began in Paris continues in Los Angeles; Mama saw another sister city of lights. While we can only comment on our experience at the rooftop bar, my boyfriend and I loved every moment that we were at Mama Shelter (even though we had to climb 6 flights of stairs to get there since the elevator was out of service!). We particularly loved their variety of specia

At first we were a bit skeptical about the size and look of the room. The carpet is a bit old and does not give a clean impression. The elevator takes forever to go up 5 floors and makes weird noises that can scare you at the beginning. You get used to it after few rides. The sta

Can thoroughly recommend staying at Mama Shelter Los Angeles. From the friendly welcome at the outset, the great room with nice touches relevant to its location, and great restaurant and bar options it certainly ticks the boxes. The rooftop bar is also an added bonus with a great

Second stay at a mama shelter property. The amenities at this property were a bit light on compared to the other one I stayed in, I.e no mini bar, no iron or ironing board. I found the bed extremely comfortable, the room spotlessly clean, the hotel staff friendly (restaurant staf

This hotel made me feel super old (I'm 35). We booked as we are Accor gold members and this looked like a good option in Hollywood. Unfortunately I probably should have looked at it more closely.

We stayed for 2 nights, in a medium room. The hotel was very loud in the lobby whe

My boyfriend and I stayed at MaMa Shelter in September for my birthday getaway. I loved the place, it was very Hollywood with cute, creative decor... The room is small but the bed was comfy and big and the room was SO clean!! Great sites to walk to and short Uber rides, exceot to the beach in LA traffic... Daniel at the front desk was very helpful.

Do you need to book if your just going for a drink or can you just turn up? Thanks
If you go early enough, you can get upstairs without getting on the waiting list.

Hello. In the medium back alley rooms - it looks from some Trip Advisor pictures as if the bathroom maybe open to the bedroom (i.e. Does not have walls?) have I got that right? What room would I need to book if I want to close the bathroom door?! Thank you
The medium rooms all have doors on the bathroom (at least the 3 that I have stayed in) However, the larger suite (Mama XXL) at the front did have a bathtub, shower and two sinks that were open to the room. There was a separate room with the toilet with a door. The room was HUGE but I was not in love with the open bathroom concept.
