Beautiful old hotel, with a very nice and big lobby. The rooms have a good size and bathrooms are also nice. Great location in the Downtown Los Angeles, close to some very nice restaurants. Also has some great coffee places and shops near. I recommend it!

Great old hotel full of charm and so much history. Spent one night here but with an extended long checkout of 6pm which was handy for a late flight out. The good: beautiful old workmanship everywhere. The lobby and surrounding area is magnificent. Our room was quite large and very comfortable. The bathroom was small but still fine overall. Great...

You're essentially staying at the Millennium Biltmore for convenience to downtown locations (LA Live Center is about a mile or so away walking distance) and the historical glamour of staying in a large lobby palace hotel. The original Oscars were held here when they started back in the 1920's and the first floor has large photos of the galas adorning...

The hotel has stood the test of time. Very regal but warm and friendly at the same time. Beautiful trimmings and over the top views. The staff is very attentive and could not be more helpful. Very quick turnaround on getting the caar from the valet.

I was pleasantly surprised at the very new furnishings though I was told I was being upgraded to the newer rooms. It's clear that this historic hotel has character and charm. Rooms and bathrooms are flawlessly designed and like new in the renovated rooms. Concierge level rooms were extremely nice though I did not stay in that esteemed floor. My...

During my stay I really enjoyed the history and architecture but It was our honey moon but we did not received any complimentary treat. They put us in very dirty room. Staff was not very helpful and Downtown LA was so smelly and dirty. I recommend Hollywood or Beverly Hills area to stay.

Husband and I stayed here for 4 nights during a much-awaited trip of a lifetime to the USA. As a base for exploring LA, both of us really liked it - LA is so vast and there are various locations to stay in but for us downtown was ideal. Good proximity to all the sights (we did have a car...

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Biltmore - ridiculously plush interiors that seem out of a film set (and I believe have appeared in a couple of movies), helpful staff and good facilities including a lush swimming pool and fitness centre in the basement as well as several cafes or restaurants, with the added bonus of a business lounge for...

This is not the most luxurious, the best value, or the coolest. It is a living piece of history from the gilded age that deserves to be preserved. (And to see how that does NOT happen, look at the row of nearby theaters a few blocks away). This hotel is in a transitory location downtown. The rooms are small but...

Got absolutely drenched arriving during downpour and all but one entrance was closed, obviously the only open entrance was the complete opposite side to the off site car park and the 4th door I tried. Was disappointed at the $45 per night valet parking option but then there was no restaurants or room service available after 11pm, only local pizza...

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

With exquisite Spanish-Italian Renaissance architecture, including stunning hand-painted ceilings, it's rich history is most noted for its connection with the Oscars - the founding banquet for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was held in the Crystal Ballroom in 1927, where the original "Oscar" statuette was sketched on a Biltmore napkin, and eight Academy Awards banquets were held in the Biltmore Bowl during the '30s and '40s. ... more   less
