I am disgusted that the hotel and law enforcement could not stop people with bullhorns from preventing guests from sleeping past 0630hrs. I am all for free speech, but there is also disturbing the peace. This should not have been allowed, and the hotel did nothing about it. Both mornings that I stayed there, I was awoke by rude people;...

Hello Bradley, I am very sorry that we are not able to prevent these morning protests; we addressed the concerns of our guests as well our own associates with local authorities. I appreciate your concern and frustration with this issue and we hope that a resolution can be made soon Orlando

Fine for the location - business downtown - but falls far below the usual standard for this chain. Location chosen because close to courts and government offices, but not a nice area. No real security in the lobby or elevators. Very loud street noise at night. Staff was indifferent to problems and service was poor. I wouldn't stay here again,...

Hello Natalie, I am very sad to read that your stay was not memorable. We take our guests' opinions very seriously and I can assure you that we will review with each department. I am sorry that our security was not visible; we actually have them dressed in suits as opposed to the normal security garb, but I will review...

We chose the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Los Angeles because of its proximity to the AMTRAK station...our travel arrangements required an overnight stay in the city. The entrance to the hotel is very attractive and we received excellent service from the front desk staff. Our room was very clean, as were the hallways, elevators and common areas in the hotel....

Hello, thank you for reviewing us; we cannot improve ourselves without the feedback of our guests. I am very disappointed to read that for your future travels you wont consider us. Please note that there are quite a bit of interesting nightlife and shopping in the Little Tokyo District I hope you will reconsider. Orlando

This hotel and staff were extraordinary! They ensured our family's stay was comfortable, seamless and problem-free. A very clean, very fresh-feeling atmosphere that is rare in these days of fast-food, "fast" accommodations - get them in and get them out attitude. My family felt like they were in their own homes. Will definitely stay here again!

I was there for a weekend in previous years. After a long time, I can remember the most influential ones: location+ breakfast+ Kyoto garden! Location: Hard to believe we were in downtown LA right in the heart of Little Tokyo! Just a short walk to little Japan with all manner of shops and foodies. Breakfast: Breakfast was really great, versatile...

We just stayed for one night and arrived late, so that may color the review. Room was fine, but the water pressure in the shower & bathtub were so low, we could barely shower. Had to sleep right away and leave early, so didn't report it. Hope this was a one off experience.

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
