We weren't quite sure what to expect but this hotel is really special. It is just the place for someone who wants to be close to the sights in Hollywood but doesn't want to be stuck in a large ordinary hotel. It is homely and comfortable. We loved it and will be recommending it to everyone including our travel agent.

We expected a boutique hotel, as advertised in the website, but found ourselves in a vacation rental instead. No one to welcome us, just a note to say the cost had been charged to the card and to sign the voucher. No service whatsoever...no one ever cleaned the room, bathroom, etc. Has problems with the parking since no guidance was... More

Great little place to stay. Check in & out was super simple. Old bungalows have been converted to quaint rooms comfortably furnished & decorated. Walking distance to Hollywood & Vine & multiple restaurants. Off street parking is a plus...literally can reach from your car to the room in 2 steps. Not for those who want to be pampered, but if... I have stayed at Villa Della Stella three times. I absolutely love this hotel. It is so homey and comfortable. I've stayed in The Hollywood Glamour, The Parisian and The Enchanted Cottage. Every room is complete with a kitchen and amazing decor. The sheets on the bed are to die for. The hotel is so close to amazing restaurants, stores,... More

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Delle Stelle in the Le Petite Suite. There was plenty of room for the hire car off the street and the location is within walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard and the walk of Fame, we also walked to Melrose Avenue for shopping bit it was a bit of a walk. Plenty of restaurants... More

This rental was during my last few days in California. It was on the tail-end of a week and a half on the West Coast. I was worried about the area, after I booked I was told horror stories about west hollywood, but everything worked out perfectly. The 'room' I rented was actually the cottage suite. Our parking spot was... More

We, a family of three, stayed at the Enchanted Cottage for 3 nights. The place provides very special experience: you can feel like a local and enjoy very quite environment within the walking distance from the bustling Hollywood Boulevard. The price was also quite reasonable. We found the Cottage very comfortable and nicely decorated. There are 2 bedrooms and a... More

Recently stayed at this hotel in Hollywood. The guide book in the room mentioned that the pipes were old and, sure enough, the toilet backed up on day one. Apart from the pipes the vanity in the bathroom needs attention and the random hours at the office are not helpful.

We stayed in the Parisian suite for 4 nights with our family of 4, This was a perfect haven from the hurly burly of Los Angeles, it was good to have a well appointed designer kitchen and to be able to have the choice to dine in our rooms if we wanted to. Our host Brogan was so friendly and... More

I stayed here for a week and loved it. The bed was confortable and the bathroom well appointed. The kitchen had everything necessary. Right around the corner from Roscoe's chicken and waffles, yum. DO rent a small car however as when they specify the size of the parking space they are not kidding! The owners are lovely and the neighborhood... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Villa Delle Stelle means House of the Stars. We recapture the glamour of the silver screen and allows guests to feel what it is like to "live and be treated like stars" from the foothills of the famous Hollywood sign. Co-owned by actors and entrepreneurs Susan Foster and Brogan Lane, each of the five suites are specially designed with a Hollywood legend in mind. Former wife of the late Dudley Moore and celebrity designer, Ms Lane bought the hotel in 2004 and renovated the neighborhood treasure originally built in 1924 to accommodate silent film stars including Buster Keaton for Columbia Studios (now Gower Studios). ... more   less
