My second trip to LA and happily returned to the Miyako. Centrally located in Little Tokyo, I love the clean quiet rooms, bidet toilets with custom warming seats, water and air. Bed are comfortable. Service is customer centric. Restaurant has very nice Japanese buffet breakfast. Close to lots of great sake bars, sushi and ramen restaurants, breweries and the rest of the Arts/Fashion and Warehouse district. It’s a great hotel to rest during your busy trip in LA!
Walked in last minute and got a review. The credit card machine was giving us trouble, but the concierge was fantastic and did his best. concierge's name was Lucky and he was great. Room was nice, bed was comfy and the location is unbeatable. Also one of the first times in a while I've been to a hotel room that lets you open the window a bit.
If you want to stay near Little Tokyo this hotel is perfect. There is another hotel close by, the Doubletree but I only saw it from the street. The Miyako is a little bit of Japan right away. Check in was easy & fast. My king size bedroom was very large & suited my needs. The bathroom has a nice tub & a Japanese style toilet (Bidet). If you have been to Japan you know all about this toilet. Due to COVID issues most of the dinning venues at the hotel were closed, so no Japanese breakfast. The 1 restaurant open had limited seating outdoors but I did not use it. Little Tokyo is 2 blocks away & that area has so many small restaurants & wonderful shops. The area is not the greatest, but still safe to walk around at night. I walked from the hotel to the Amtrak station (Union Station) & it was about 15 minutes. I would recommend this hotel & look forward to returning when things are back to normal.…
I tried to cancel the reservation 48 hours before check-in per hotel rules. I had to go through Booking.com to contact the hotel. I informed the hotel that my wife was ill and due to the coronavirus emergency we had decided to cancel. the hotel refused the cancellation and charged us for a no-show. The hotel stated that they had a 24 hour cancellation policy, but I contacted Booking.com prior to 24 hours. When I tried to email the hotel about the problem they immediately charged my credit card, even before the reservation time. This hotel has terrible customer service, especially during an emergency. There are better choices in LA that will treat you better - stay away.
Located right in the middle of Japan town. Great access to all Asian food. Little bit of a walk to the center. Staff very friendly. The room was clean and modern. I would stay again. Valet parking is a nice touch.
