We stayed here two nights in April. It was a pleasant surprise - easy to find on Sunset Boulevard and welcoming staff who let us check in early by a few hours with no extra cost. Reception was small but pleasant which doubled a as breakfast room - light breakfast, waffles, toast muffins, pastries tea, coffe and juices, a great...

Even though most of the budget hotels in the Hollywood area are a little run down, this one is below average. There were cigarette burns in the bed cover, and wholes in the blanket. The bed was hard, and pillows offered no support. The the bathroom could have also been cleaner. We won't be staying there again. There are other...

Stayed here for 4 nights 3rd April to 7th April 2013. Rooms adequate size, beds made everyday, fresh clean towels daily, bathroom cleaned daily. Room was what we wanted as we spent the entire day touring and exploring L.A. Breakfast was served in reception with a few tables to sit at, even though it was included in the price we...

Good location and price. Expect nothing else. Found a roach in my original room, they were nice enough to give me a different room with a smaller bed and no fridge of course. Walls are paper thin. Lots of street noise so ask for a room away from the street. TV's suck. Blankets and towels are suspect. Parking sucks. Crackheads...

Easy walk from hotel to Hollywood about 10 mins. Free parking and all the main sites with easy reach. Hotel is very basic but that reflected in the price so we knew what to expect. Felt comfortable walking outside the hotel at night and there are eating places within easy walking. Works well if your on a budget. No restauant...

1 mile walk to sunset strip bars and clubs. Paid around $85 for a Thursday night. There is a Ralph's grocery store right across the street which is really nice. The front desk guy was not very nice at all, and required identification from the other person staying in my room, which is strange... He said it was a requirement...

I travel to LA every year from Australia and when in LA I always stay at the Saharan. It's cheap, good location and I find the staff friendly and helpful. I've recommended lots of friends to stay there if they travel to LA and I've heard no complaints. I look fwd to staying there again :) Terri

The room is excellent. Location is great and fare includes breakfast, only that it is from 7 to 9 am. But the personnel at the front desk is usually a man from India who is extremely rude and always pressure you to buy tours or tickets there with him. Try to avoid him.

Stayed here 3 nights in Nov 2012, as wanted to be in Hollywood Center, which we were. Room was fantastically decorated, which shocked us both, as the exterior of the building is deceiving (ie: old/dated). Interior rooms are better decorated than any room in my own home in Canada! Newer beds & mattresses - very comfortable. My sweetheart & I...

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
