This house is on the national registry for a reason. It's beautiful. And it's a block from the beach. There are wonderful places to sit on the porch. But I am allergic to mold, so I was able to stay only because the moldy smell was much less in our room. If it would have been a two night stay...

We usually stay in a nearby hotel, but I thought I would "treat" myself and my wife to this charming house/B&B. I booked one of the suites (Pier Suite) and thought we would love it based on reading reviews and the web-site. OK, now for reality. The first thing you notice upon entering is the smell! Musty, old, dank, come...

At check in, the lady who let us in was not welcoming or friendly at all. Something I expect from a locally owned bed and breakfast. Room was average, below average for price! Very expensive for what it is plus more for parking. Breakfast was also average. With the pricing I would expect more for both the room and breakfast....

Lovely house & grounds, nice spacious rooms, friendly staff, tasty simple breakfast. The doors are difficult to lock and the showers are a bit naff, but other than that the place is great. Excellent location too. Perfect for a relaxing stop over.

This is a cute B&B 1911, with some interesting history. They were very accommodating about letting us check out but still use the facilities until late in the afternoon. The beach is so close, grab the boogie boards and cross the ally, you are there. It is close to Muscle Beach and all with funky people and vendors. The B&B...

This house was amazing! we stayed for 5 days and did not want to leave. The location is excellent, so close to the beach, bars, restaurants and shops. The house is so beautiful and relaxing, even better than the photos. The outdoor garden was so tranquil to relax in. Great internet and parking was a great bonus. The communal bathroom...

stayed here three months ago in April for 2 nights and loved it. location excellent, its 20 metres walk from main restaurants/pubs and above all else, the Beach. was beautiful getting up at 8am and hitting the beach straight away. is expensive compared to European prices, but that perhaps is due to weak € and is actually one of the...

A true disappointment. We booked in november 2014 based on tripadvisor's ratings and reviews, unfortunately the internet does not convey smells. We got delayed en route to L.A. and realized we would miss the 8pm check-in time limit (absurde), we contacted them and received instructions on how to get in. When we eventually got there we found the keys to...

This place was a disappointment. We paid $200 for a room for one night. We were really excited about it, it looks lovely on the website, and it is reality. We had to press the button to get in and were met by an extremely grumpy woman, a pretty hostile 'welcome' and we had reserved parking on their own website...

Hi Katy, First of all, congratulations on your marriage!! It is so upsetting that your experience here did not reflect this happy time in your lives. The welcome attitude you were met with is completely unacceptable and I am so sorry. Along with the parking issue, that is not how we operate here. I would love to show you why...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
