I had a reservation at Plaza La Reina for September 08. I had a life-threatening emergency medical condition that kept me in the hospital from September 1st to the 12th. There was no way that I could cancel this reservation. I have been charged for the full amount. I contacted the manager, Dean, and he said that I did not cancel in time, although that was physically impossible. He also stated that his corporate office refused the refund. We always cancel reservations beforehand, when necessary. This was a once in a lifetime occurrence and very special situation for which the hotel should make an exception. We go to Westwood frequently but will not be staying at the Plaza La Reina.

We were excited to stay at this hotel due to the great reviews online but upon arrival we found that the entire building had NO HVAC to which we were not informed until we were standing in front of check in. Typically, I would expect the hotel to reach out to oncoming reservations ahead of time notifying them of an issue such as this. They asked if we still wanted to stay upon check in but at that point with bags in hand and it being 5pm already it would have been more of a hassle to not stay and find somewhere new. We were told that a fan was placed in each room to mitigate the cooling issue which we were fine with. However, upon entering the room we found the fan did not even work and after calling and going down to guest services 2x they never came to fix or address the issue. The first time they blew off my wife informing her that the fan is not meant to "cool" the room. The room itself was 80 degrees inside with no airflow. All the doors and windows were opened but being Los Angeles and a 90+ degree day all did not help the situation. Needless to say, for the amount that was paid for this hotel we wound up not even spending the night and just leaving entirely. I would not recommend this hotel again due specifically to the lack of service and attentiveness by the staff. The hotel room itself was clean and location ideal but you will find the customer service severely lacking.

My one bedroom suite exceeded all expectations. It felt like a large apartment with all of the kitchen amenities I would’ve needed. Unfortunately I only stayed two nights, but I could’ve stayed longer. The hotel staff are ultra professional and friendly. It was hot in LA when I was visiting and the air conditioning was perfect. Not loud in the bedroom and just the right temperature for a restful evening. The bed was super comfortable. The shower had great temperature and water pressure. The free ETRO products were a nice touch. I highly recommend this hotel. The Hotel is in the Westwood neighborhood which has really good food options including tender greens, Noah’s bagels, Starbucks, and Trader Joe’s.

The hotel is a beautiful Mediterranean oasis near UCLA. There is a single person working as concierge / front desk and aside from my late night checkin, every time I passed by over the 3 days they had a phone to their ear so I would give up and continue on. The big issue was there was an LA heat wave and the AC would continuously shut off. Looking at the high tech thermostat it would say UNOCCUPIED despite being in the room. You should be able to work remote st the desk and not have to do jumping jacks every few minutes to have conditioned air. You can manually turn it on for up to 90 minutes but that means it shuts off after you go to bed so you wake up hot and sweaty in a couple of hours. I also saw that I could book through a 3rd party and save nearly $100/night but chose to book directly through the hotel expecting a nicer room. I got RM 312 that had a balcony that overlooked a small alley and parking garage. I’ll probably look elsewhere next time.

What a hidden gem of an hotel, especially for long-term visits to LA. It doesn’t even feel like a hotel - it’s quiet & private. Our room had a mini-kitchen & a washer-dryer…just like a studio apartment. The staff were so responsive and efficient. Walking distance to everywhere Westwood - and what a terrific, quiet roof terrace.

This is my spot when I'm in LA. Always feels like home - so private, quiet, comfortable, spacious, and convenient. The beds are heavenly and I have the best sleep when I'm here. The staff is always helpful if I ever need anything, and they're great with recommendations. Definitely check out the rooftop - it's so beautiful and peaceful. Westwood is such a quaint area with lots of shops, restaurants, and nearby markets. I'll be back soon for sure!

The location was a plus many great restaurants nearby within walking distance. And the design of the hotel was amazing. Also I loved the safety, you need your room card to get into the lobby and the garage. Moreover, you can go to your room directly from where you park your car. They provide daily cleaning (upon your request) as well as providing free bottles of water daily. Note: make sure to request for a room with washing machine if you need as not the rooms have one. The only negative comment that I have is the sofa bed it's not comfortable unlike the beds.

Enjoyed our repeat stay at Plaza La Reina! This boutique hotel is tucked in Westwood in a perfect centrally located part of LA..easy access to all the best points of interest…Hollywood to the East, the beach to the West, Malibu to the North and Beverly Hills, Brentwood, and Century City just next door. This hotel is beautifully designed and quiet with lovely appointed rooms and excellent gated and secure self garage parking. Friendly and accommodating staff. Many great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and loved the picturesque town and neighborhood of Westwood with UCLA down the street. We’ll be back!!

We had a good but not great stay. The location is A plus , restaurants across the street, safe neighborhood, lots to offer within walking distance. The room is very spacious. We are glad that there are in room kitchenettes, and washer and dryer. We do want to share about the bedding conditions. We booked two rooms with one for a group of 4. When we arrived , there was no setup for enough beds. It was ok to have a sofa bed but the sofa bed is among the most uncomfortable , one could feel the spring when lying on it. We felt so bad to have our guest to be on the sofa bed. Then there was no bedding and we had to explicitly asked for them multiple times to get the right number of blankets. It felt that the room was not well prepared in spite of the fact that I called a few days ago to confirm. We also asked for our two rooms to be next to each other and we ended up only on the same floor. We found a few items that can be enhanced... The lighting switch above the bed seems strange, it is too bright for any bed time reading . The charger outlet is not convenient . The TV station channel is limited. Overall, the room is spacious , the location is good but there can be much to make it a great stay .
