There was no ironing board or toilet paper in room. Housekeeping came to the room to check to see if my inquiry of this was accurate before going to get the items! The phones did not work and no one ever came to fix them. The shower head could not accommodate someone 5'5". You had to contort yourself to get...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The Grande Colonial came highly recommended by friends who visited La Jolla in June 2016, and boy, were they spot on! What a fantastic hotel and restaurant. The common areas and guest rooms are tastefully decorated and cozy. Our suite #512 overlooked the pool and had a view of the ocean as well. This suite had two queen beds, each...

I stayed in the "Little Hotel by the Sea" portion of the hotel. I went with high expectations and I was not disappointed. Everything was top notch. I did not want to leave. Just steps from the ocean - and downtown La Jolla.

While visiting UCSD prior to my daughter making her "college" choice, we stayed in La Jolla at the Grand Colonial. We had a great time. There are tons of good restaurants and sights in the area. We had a good nights rest and then hiked the famous Torrey Pines hike in the morning.

As the father of three, I remember firsthand those days of touring schools and making that life changing choice. Best of luck to you all (and I do hope she chose UCSD)! Thanks for taking the time to share feedback about your experience staying with us....

I just hosted a retreat with 20 clients at the Grande Colonial and it was IMPECCABLE. Leo, the events manager, was accommodating, generous, and incredibly helpful, Britney, the catering manager, was also very accommodating and supportive, and my retreat was an absolute success thanks to the smooth flow and contribution of the Grand Colonial team. We will ABSOLUTELY be back!!!

The Grande Colonial is an old, but well-maintained property, right in the heart of La Jolla Cove, one of the most beautiful places anywhere. A short walk to the coast to see the seals and sea lions, or up to the village to shop and dine. And the hotel is clean, comfortable, quiet. Our room was very spacious and relaxing....

La Jolla is an amazing place and the Grande Colonial is such a beautiful hotel. Stayed in a very spacious suite that had views of the ocean. The hotel restaurant Nine Ten is great too, which is an added bonus. Service was terrific and all in all, can highly recommend this hotel. Note - I asked for a newly refurbished...

Great experience. Five star treatment. Beautiful views. Excellent location relative to downtown La Jolla restaurants and shops. Short walk to beachside. Was not difficult finding neighborhood or street parking.

I have stayed at this hotel before and they have some lovely rooms. Unfortunately, they also have horrible rooms and they are so disorganized that they are unable to recognize their regular guests, let alone remember these guest's preferences. This time, I was put in room 122, which is a room to avoid at all costs. There is a staircase...

Commanding views of the California coastline, the Grande Colonial overlooks the shores of the Pacific Ocean and is ideally located just steps away from miles of beautiful beaches renowned to Southern California. Within walking distance are world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment and within a short drive are an abundance of golf, recreation and visitor attractions. The hotel features 93 air-conditioned, non-smoking guest rooms and suites (some with fully-equipped kitchens and fireplaces).
