The advertising for this hotel was a little misleading as several of the special features (sky bar, restaurant, gym etc) were not available. However the rooms are spacious - all in stand-alone villas scattered through the gardens by the excellent swimming pools. Staff are very helpful and arrange free shuttles to another resort for breakfast. In time, when it is finished, this is sure to be a very good resort.

The hotel is not yet completed, but what is makes a very pleasant spot to relax. The pool all 30 metres is kept very clean and cool. Our room was large and the mattress and pillows were sensational did not think I would get my partner out of bed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is supplied a short golf buggy ride away and is plentiful and varied. I would definitely stay there again.

I recently reviewed Otres 2 resort not very favourably, however if it is your destination then Mangrove River is a very nice place to stay. Once through the gates it is a haven.
It is well laid out in a tranquil setting on the river. The pool is excellent and all looks well maintained.
The bungalows themselves are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Huge shower room with very modern fittings.
Could do with providing some coat hangers particularly as there weren't any in the 'open wardrobes that do not have shelves. I am sure they would provide them if asked.
There is a downside, not a huge one, but nevertheless a downside. As yet they cannot provide breakfast on site. I think the arrangements for breakfast are well described in prior posts.
All in all , worthy of 4 stars.

Would give this 0 stars if that was possible. We booked this hotel for one night between a Koh Rong stay and a flight. The booking was made by our travel agent and confirmed by the hotel.

We turned up and got told, via Google translate that they are no longer open to the public, have not received money for our stay (despite them confirming the booking) and that the hotel was now only for private use of the boss. We were then told to leave!

Do not book this hotel - you will be turned away!

i booked this place for 3 nights with a secret deal from agoda ,they advertised nobody could match the price and facilities of a 5 star resort in sihanoukville, little did i know it turned out to be this place, the only way i could get the secret deal was to accept it without asking its name ( crazy i know) ,anyway i trusted them but big mistake, when they revealed the name of the place and location i nearly freaked, and asked for refund, they refused( i,d paid 72 bucks a night) it was well over 200 bucks total, they told me no refund get lost you got a great deal ,they underestimated me, i found out after the joint can,t get people there, its in a un built area it stinks at times ,they ship you off to another chinese joint of sub standard for breakfast, and theres a board out front flogging off rooms for discount price ,so liuckily i,d payed with paypal, who opened a case for me when agoda refused a refund, they found in my favor a clear case of decaption by agoda and i got afull refund, otherwise i would have lost the lot.agoda has lost me for ever they used deception to try and flog off rooms, when anyone could get better deals anywhere, this is a chinese owned resort, uder managed from what i read and avoid it like the plague

Stayed here for 2 nights, booked by travel company ; new buildings poorly finished , lots of construction happening immediately adjacent to the hotel.
Bathroom smelt of drains and toilet became blocked . I reported this and when I returned to my room after a day out the toilet was unblocked but they had left my door wide open ! No staff or barrier to the annex building we were staying in, so anyone could have wandered into my room.
Not impressed.

Stayed here for two nights in the low season. The staff were helpful but the quality of the hotel was not very good. For the cost, the value did not meet the standards that are portrayed. Two of us stayed in a twin room which was actually in a separate building next door, which we found out had finished construction a week ago. The rest of the complex is also under construction for expansion. It was easy to tell with the strong construction material smell that stunk out the place and the average finishing quality. The room was full of small flies and we awoke covered in bites. The aircon unit was located above my bed and through the night it would 'spit' drops of water on my face that I had to sleep at the reverse end of the bed. The building was also next to a loud restaurant and sound proofing was not good and kept us up late. There was also a power outage but it would appear that the whole area was affected so that is not the hotel's fault, but more of a reflection of the 'in progress' state of the broader Sihanoukville area. The only upside was an easy walk to Otres beach which had a couple of nice restaurant spots for a sunset, but may be worth staying at a place closer to the beach.

Noisy, No food on site, awoke with zillions of ants in the bed.
The only nice thing about this place was its setting and the stunning bathroom, yet when taking a shower the bathroom would flood, after just a few minuets.
Also the hotel is in amongst a huge building site of Sihanoukville, Otres 11.
One hotel I would not ever go back to.

The place looks spectacular, and has much potential, but several problems make the hotel a rip off for the very high cost. They lie on the booking.com and TripAdvisor descriptions about: 1. The food on site - they are still builiding it, 2. The room service. 3. The pool side facilities - there are none, 4. The private checkin - it is a public desk, 5. The welcone drink, 6. Breakfast - it is in another hotel and they didnt tell us when they gave the price on the phone that they will ask on checkin for more if you want breakfast. Also, the service is cold - polite but not friendly from either the one staff member or the manager, and as noted on other reviews if there is something wrong with the room - like a broken refrigerator - they neither apologize or fix it. This is basically a four to five star hotel in terms of the physical buikding, but with one to two star facilities and service. Gave it a poor rating as this is utterly unacceptable at 85 dollars a night and due to the attitude and deception.
