We had a horrible experience with this hotel. Our account with Hotel.com was hacked and multiple hotels were booked. At the Miner's Motel, 2 rooms were actually booked. We called them as soon as we found out and Hotels.com contacted them as well. They refused to refund and basically accused all of us of lying. As another owner of a business in modern times, I understand cards and accounts get hacked. It's part of our world and I often have to handle this and it's annoying and difficult for all parties. We tried to talk to them and they refused. A business that will take advantage of another person's unfortunate situation is not a business I would recommend to anyone. I would recommend booking anywhere else.

We stayed here one night while on our way to Yosemite over the 4th of July holiday. Luckily we booked the room a couple months in advance which helped keep the rate low. We found the staff to be friendly and courteous, and had no problems checking in. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. It had all the amenities that we needed. The hotel even has an outdoor pool just steps away from the building. Only a few small issues to note: 1. There is free wifi, but found it to be slow and spotty. 2. We could hear quite a bit of noise from the room next door. 3. Our room didn’t have any towel bars, so we had to leave our hand towel laying across the edge of the sink. All in all, you will get what you expect from a budget motel in this price range. We’d probably stay here again if we’re in the area, and see if we can hit the 5-star experience.

Pictures doesn't do it justice. The inside had a cabin feel.Cute, comfy bed. Allowed my furry friends for $15 each. Not bad. On the negative, the TV didn't work and there was coffee in the pot from the person before me.Otherwise would definitely stay again.

This veteran motel, located in the general "Gateway to Yosemite" area, is pretty good older lodging. We found it to be comfortable, clean and well kept and would stay there again unless we felt we had to be in Mariposa proper.

This is an older hotel. It met all of our basic needs. The pool was fun for the kids. The room was a bit small and the bathroom a bit outdated but it was clean and right off the highway so very easy to find. Hotels in the area are a bit limited but this one is a safe choice.

I booked my stay at Miner's Hotel during "Off-Season" time. The owner stated I could stay as long as I wanted at a reduced rate since "We are not busy now" (planned stay from April 5 through April 13). I requested a large room as I was in Sonora preparing for a trial; two computers, two tables, computer printer, and trial files. All was good until, on the 5th day of my stay, he told me to leave as he had another party who had reserved the room. He knocked on my door at 11 am and told me I had to leave immediately. I reminded him of our arrangement; he said "You have to leave". When he saw my set-up, he told me I could stay until the next day. It took me hours to find another suitable hotel room. The next day when I moved, it was pouring rain; it took me 4 hours to move. I paid for an additional two days for which I did not have much use of the room (hours looking for a new hotel and the next day of moving out of one hotel and moving into and setting up in a new motel). I had a friend of mine call the hotel to book a room; the room rate was nearly double as the rate I was paying. I found out that Sonora had an event at the Sonora Fair Grounds that was attracting more people than originally thought it would attract. The owner merely asked me to leave so he could fill the room with a higher paying quest. I would have paid a higher rate if he would have explained to me the situation; I was never given the opportunity to stay longer. As it turned out, he had four empty rooms (including the one I occupied) due to heavy rain. My bank, after review of the contract and hearing both sides of the argument, reversed the charges for two days of hotel stay; the hotel lost. He also lied and stated he worked for the Sonora Police and I would be in trouble if I did not leave. When I questioned him about his working for the Sonora Police in front of one of his employees, he LIED and denied ever saying it. A hotel quest witnessed the conversation and wrote a declaration as to the statement he made stating he worked for the Sonora Police. A very bad experience for me. Tip for consumers: I would not recommend staying at this hotel as the owner might put you in an uncomfortable situation causing loss of money, time, and causing great inconvenience.

Great little motel about an hour and a half from yosemite national park. Me and my partner left the park late and found this place tucked away. Lovely friendly staff that were so helpful. We had a large upstairs room with a queen bed. Lovely and clean. We were only going to stay one night but had such a good quiet night we extended our stay. There is a coffee making facilities. Microwave and fridge in the room. The TV was a bit dated but who watches TV on holiday. There is a great Mexican restaurant beside the fuel station down the road that serves a excellent breakfast menu and is cheap. It was a bit strange being given tortilla chips and chilli while you are waiting for your breakfast

Well maybe there's no gold but they are nice and clean rooms. Beds were real comfy which was a plus after all the driving I did! Reception desk was friendly and helpful. Got tips on where we could get something to eat really late. All in all it was a nice stay here. Parking lot filled but it was quiet all thru the night.

The second night we were here, a herd of elephants directly above our ground-floor room kept stomping around even after the hotel manager called to ask them to keep it down. Bring ear plugs if you want to increase the odds of getting a decent night's sleep. The shower was an adventure unto itself, running hot and cold intermittently. On the other hand, those with pets might appreciate finding an affordable motel that's dog-friendly.
