I was traveling by myself and looking for a relatively inexpensive place with character and I found it. Alex has done a fine job of maintaining the character of this very old school hotel in a town that's off the beaten path. The room was clean and maintained. There was the usual TV and fridge and the bed was comfortable....

Don't expect much from this hotel. Bed is ok to sleep. Bathroom works fine & that's it. We paid around $125 for a night which is overpriced for the service & hotel infrastructure. Receptionist was helpful. Overall ok for a night to just sleep.

If you are looking for rustic (and reportedly haunted), this is the place for you. The bed was clean so that's a plus. I wish the website had been updated to reflect the fact that the restaurant & saloon were closed.

Nice hotel with the old time fell to it. The front doors stay open all night but parking is limited, only a handful of parking spots out front. The room was cozy with a TV but no fridge. Reading materials in the drawers.

WOW!! Where should I begin? After my friends motorcycle was impounded by the local police, we were stuck spending the night in Ione. Turn of the 20th century hotel, one room left with one king size bed. The bar/restaurant in the hotel was nonexistent and of course it was no room service. For the price we paid this was crazy....

Total room cost: $146. Historic hotel. Bed was good for sleeping but bath lacked updating so was missing tile. You'd think they would clean the room better considering the number of dead bugs in both windows. My GF received free, a spider bite while sleeping that swelled up to the size of a half dollar the next day and finally,...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel is over 100 years old but is very well kept. The restaurant & bar have just been updated and will open in two weeks. We did receive a tour of both. Alejandro was quick to give us a tour of the hotel and since they were not busy we could...

Yes, me and that Panda guy like 'Old West' places. This gold rush era brothel suits us just fine. Miss 'Black Rose' left her mark all over our room, #13. We felt well cared for in our flatbed high bed. The shower has some elbow room. The pull chain toilet, antique brass TP holder and vanity sink outside the water...

Made a reservation by phone a month in advance along with a group of other people. When we got there the guy behind the desk at first didn't know we were checking in because it wasn't written down in the book, who doesn't have a computerized system?! then he found our "reservation" written on the back of a piece of...

I stayed at the Ione Hotel in Room 1 (at the back end of the building) on the night of 4/12/14. I was in town to do a half-day investigation of nearby Preston Castle. The Hotel is sandwiched in between a restaurant (can't recall the name but their steak salad was great!) and a bar. The hotel lobby is beautiful...
