Santa Monica, California
Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

The accommodations were very dilapidated and many of the advertised amenities were not working. When we attempted to address these issues the manager was rude in the extreme and the owner (apparently new ownership) refused to respond to our inquiry. The price was outrageous given the poor conditions and terrible service. We love Idyllwild but would never return to the...

Unfortunately, it's hard to tie reviewers with actual staying guests 100%. However, if this is the Sonya we believe it is, she and her husband had extraneous circumstances with their stay that involved law enforcement, and therefore cannot be responded to here publicly. Of course, having to involve the county Sheriff is a rare and unusual situation (once in a...

Super quaint and very friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay here. We booked the 'Country Gentleman Suite'. The room was a little on the small side, just the queen bed and a chain, but was very quaint. It is decorated like your grandpa's study and has an electric fireplace and a skylight. The hotel seems little on the older...

Thank you for your kind word and we're thrilled you had a great stay!! While the inn is under new management, we've retained all the important elements like the home cooked fresh meals, farm-fresh eggs laid onsite, and our delicious scones! You're right ins noticing that we're also upgrading, adding amenities and features, and revitalizing inside and out over the...

Wonderful time after the Christmas rush. What a find! Cozy, quaint, rustic with a loving touch. A nice light breakfast of coffee, juice, fruit, and muffins. Spacious for the two of us and the pooch. We'll be back!

Dennis, We're thrilled you had a great time! I think, however, that you must be confusing the part where you brought the dog with another visit or location, as Strawberry Creek Inn does not allow any pets at all. Our sister Property, Quiet Creek, does have a limited number of cabins designated pet friendly. Just wanted to clarify that bit...

Great getaway in the mountains. This adorable cabin looked straight out of LL Bean Catalog. Rustic, cozy, warm, inviting. Yes, it is on the side of the road however, there was hardly any traffic and the room was quiet and well appointed. We could bring our dog which was a bonus (small fee) and it was a short drive into...

We stayed in the Autumn room and it was wonderful. The room was nice, with a big bathroom, walk in shower, the best bathrobes ever, the bed was cozy, the sheets were so comfortable and we had a private entrance. We got to the bed and breakfast after hours and Mary had left and envelope with instructions and the keys...

My friend and I do an annual girls trip to get away and rejuvenate for a weekend. We chose Idyllwild because neither of us have been there before and its close enough to home but far enough away. I read reviews before going that left me with mixed feelings. I am reviewing this with mixed feelings. The idea of being...

Please note that as of mid December 2016, the inn is under new ownership and management and undergoing significant investment in improvements, upgrades and revitalization as scheduling permits between guests' stays . We deeply apologize for your disappointing experiences with the prior ownership and management.

Quaint, quiet & romantic. Like staying in a cabin, even though the rooms are connected. Love the back deck & the little pantry area. The breakfast basket was cool. Love the fact that it's only 10 rooms, but the parking spots are kind of small & my Suburban didn't fit. Will definitely go back!

I made a reservation as a Valentine's Day present for my fiancé. I made the reservation from their own website for a room touted as costing $129 per night plus tax, totaling around $140 with tax. The next day, I get an email from this sad excuse of an establishment telling me that my credit card had been charged $189....

Arrival was good and check in was quick. The room was in a large mountain house with a nice living room area stocked with games and books and archaic VHS tapes. We had another amazing and romantic getaway. This time we stayed in the San Jacinto room and it was warm and cozy with a woodsy cabin feel. We loved the fireplace and the delicious breakfasts. Rodney and Ian were so friendly and welcoming. We will be back and we can't wait!!
