Only 2 hrs and 45 mins away from San Diego, this campground is an absolute treasure. My friends and I stayed on site #30, and according to the Ranger, it is the most sought-after campsite on the grounds. It is secluded, far from other sites, and very open. A lot of room to go explore the area. The campsites are...

Stay there overnight very quiet and quite Pleasant. the drive up there was scary, but once we arrived it was worth it. Very peaceful and amazing views and definitely a great place to take the kids if necessary. But great if you want to just get away with your man and be alone

It took good 20 min uphill through winding and bumpy road to get to Boulder Basin. If you have a car, you can still make it but just make sure you drive slow and avoid big potholes. I liked the fact that campsite was pretty well spread out and overall campsite didn't feel crowded. No flushable toilet so make sure...

Bring in tons of water and an easy up for shade. It is not a campground for standard vehicles because you have to brave just over 3.5 miles of rocky unsaved road to get to the camp site and my sedan is the worse for wear for it. However, we have been camping at Boulder Basin for five years since...

I'm not sure what other reviewers are used to when it comes to campground facilities but this is pretty standard, and well maintained compared to some that I've been to locally. What is great about BB is that it's a good 25 minutes on a winding dirt road on the way in. If your car has low clearance you may...

Just spent two days/.nights there, had not been there since the 80's. Not much has changed for the better. The pit toilets are "rough" but expected up there... It's still a white nuckle 5.5 mile drive up a rutted road, takes almost an hour, better for a 4x4, but can be done in a car if you are very careful, I...

we stayed at Boulder Basin Campground. Great views and hiking but the worst bathrooms I have every experienced. The camp ranger did nothing to keep the noise down after hours either. Loud parties and music went on until after 3am.
