My wife and I stayed here two nights over the recent Thanksgiving weekend. We worried that we'd regret being away from family during the holiday, but visiting with Dane and Rita at their cozy property felt like being with your favorite family members. We also figured that - in our late 30s - we'd be the youngest folks who stay...

We just returned from a birthday weekend in Healdsburg. We had the pleasure of staying at The Raford Inn where everything is as described so aptly by others, so I'll resoundlingly scond all the positive opinions. As it was my 75th birthday, there was Champagne and two cupcakes awaiting us...just one more example of Rita and Dane's lovely hospitality. We...

The Raford House is beautiful and the setting is amazing. If the rooms are not luxurious that is more than compensated for by the atmosphere and the value. The breakfasts, the wine reception every afternoon and the delicious baked goods are outstanding. You are definitely in the country, though, so be prepared to drive for your dinner.

We just returned home from our eight visit to the Russian River/Healdsburg area of Sonoma County and our sixth stay at The Raford. Since we found The Raford, we cannot imagine staying anyplace else in the area. Dane and Rita are warm, gracious, and fun hosts who truly care about their guests. Since we have stayed at The Raford so...

After reading the reviews here I made a reservation for a friend and myself to stay at the Radford Inn, and everyone is right. It is a lovely place. It's a quiet old house out in the countryside, surrounded by vineyards (peacefulness anyone?). It's been really lovingly restored, keeping the old charm, the rooms very thoughtfully set out (armchairs, fireplaces...

It was our first time to Sonoma and a friend insisted that we stay in Healdburg. We stumbled across the Raford Inn, and boy was I happy we did. The owners take such pride in their property and make you feel at home with ease. The breakfasts were fabulous. And the winery suggestions didn't disappoint. The location is about 10...

We were lucky enough to get a room at the Raford Inn when we decided to stay an extra night in the area. Dane,Rita and Andrew made us feel very welcome, They have more than a couple of very nice touches e.g. the welcome cheese&wine and the morning vineyard tour. The strawberry room was beautiful and breakfast delicious. I rate...

We stayed for two nights and found the Raford to be everything we had hoped. Rita and Dane were very friendly, the room was much nicer than I imagined (we stayed in the Lavender room), and the breakfasts were delicious (Thanks, Tawny). The location was great; nicely isolated from other developments, but strategically located near numerous wineries. We would definitely...

The Raford House was the absolutely perfect place to stay for our 4 day visit to Sonoma wineries. We immediately felt at home- Dane, Rita and their staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Our room- "The Strawberry Room" was spacious, very clean and so comfortable. Everything was provided- robes, blow dryer, refrigerator, wine glasses and a litle box full...

We loved the location - it's in a beautiful spot in the vineyards; close to some of our favorite wineries. Dane and Rita were wonderful hosts; provided us with great recommendations, great breakfasts and wine tastings. Can't wait to go back!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This classic Victorian Plantation landmark manor house, built in 1880, once presided over a huge empire of hops. Converted to an intimate country bed and breakfast in 1980 it sits upon a knoll above an unspoiled Russian River vineyard valley ringed by redwood forested mountains. Lovingly preserved it is a place of quiet beauty in the hills of Healdsburg Wine Country. Return now to a time and place that has not quite yet gone by. ... more   less
