It was my first visit to Healdsburg that brought me to the Camellia Inn, but it's the Inn that will bring me back. A college gal pal and I settled into the family suite Memento for 3 days of vineyard hopping, dining and experiencing the unique pleasures of Healdsburg and environs. Owner Lucy and staff, including the very knowledgeable Hila (sp?)- a former inn-keeper herself-have created a homey and yet at the same time very accommodating experience...social hour featuring homemade snacks and solid wines, sweetly furnished rooms that were surprisingly quiet, an oasis between activities, with very comfortable beds outfitted with THE most comfortable linens. Booked a massage with a very gifted Rhyia with the strongest of hands and the sweetest of manners - amazing - and I've had some great massages. But the breakfasts. Oh the breakfasts. Delish coffee, smoothie "shots," a main (egg) entre that changed every day, a big and seemingly bottomless bowl of fresh-cut fruit, with yogurts, granola and best of all the company of other visitors to the Inn, eager to exchange information and advice on where to go and what to do next. And if your interest is piqued in Valette or Shed? Lucy will get on the phone to help secure a reservation and share advice on what to order where. Enjoyed lounging by the pool after a grueling day of wine tasting, too. Centrally located. Comfortable. Friendly and fun. A gem among gems.
My wife and I have stayed at the Inn four times through the years and it has always been wonderful. You meet the nicest people at breakfast and the afternoon wine tasting and Lucy and Archie make sure all is well. We will be back.
We are NOT big B&B fans even though the few we've experienced have been excellent. So why not? Especially with outstanding properties like the Camellia Inn in cool places like Healdsburg. Comfy bed, quiet room, excellent food, gracious hosts; it's all right here. Great location within walking distance of the whole town and a nice base for day trips up and down the Sonoma Valley. We would HIGHLY recommend this lovely place.
This was our third trip to Healdsburg and once again the Camellia Inn was our choice. Lucy is an excellent host, with a wealth of suggestions on things to try in the area. The breakfasts are always delicious. There is a happy hour daily, either out by the pool in good weather or inside. We would definitely go back next time in Healdsburg.
This was our third visit to Camilla Inn, Healdsburg and it won't be our last. We enjoy the Healdsburg area about twice a year and Lucy and her team have always been gracious and great hosts. We have been given three different rooms on each of our stays and each has their own unique personality and room appointments. Great historic charm in the house and décor, but modern amenities. While we're very private people, we were able to enjoy our own entry into our unit which we like coming and going without disruption of other guests. Lucy serves a nice group breakfast daily and it's always fun to visit with others around the table to hear where they're from and what they plan to do while in Healdsburg. It's a good value for the Healdsburg area as many of the other hotels are much pricier. Very centrally located, can walk anywhere. We will of course come back to stay at Camilla Inn time and time again. The one down side that ended up not really being a down side was no TV in our room, which I know the other rooms we stayed in had them. But it turned out we were on the go enjoying the area and the last thing we needed was a TV.
Walk to the Healdsburg plaza with wineries, boutique shopping and Zagat and Michelin rated restaurants. Comfortable and friendly hospitality with lovely queen and king rooms, off-street parking, pool. Family owned …Morefor 36 years, the inn offers a great buffet breakfast and fun wine hour in the late afternoon/evening. Wonderful guests and congenial hosts in a 1869 Victorian with modern amenities. Free wifi and ipads. Complimentary wine pass to over 100 local wineries and tasting rooms. We can't wait to help you tailor a visit just for you! - while you're dreaming, when you're planning your visit or during your stay - we love to help. Whether you've been to the area many times or it's your first we want to make it the best experience yet. Healdsburg and Sonoma County have so much to offer we look forward to sharing it with you. They should be on the website...depends on time of year and room....but given the location, the amazing breakfast, wine and cheese hour, and wonderful hostess, you can't beat it. We live in LA and stay at Vamilla Inn... More
