This is a clean property located just outside Yosemite National Park so access to the park is good. We spent one night, paying the extra person surcharge for our family of 5. Check-in was neither fast nor friendly; the woman at the desk acted irritated when I asked if there were sheets and towels for five and said of course there were. There weren’t. We had to go back and ask. Beware that the sofa bed for a fifth person is a futon suitable only for a child under about age 12. It was small and had a bar right down the middle. The room was otherwise fine, but if you need to sleep five look elsewhere.
This facility while conveniently located outside of Yosemite is in desperate need of a groundskeeper as they were weeds knee-high in many places. The staff is in different and not very helpful. The room is so badly lit from the hallway but it seems like it’s in perpetual daylight and it makes it very hard to get a restful nights sleep. In our room the TV was non-functional but thank goodness the air conditioning was working. We would not plan on returning here
This was the cleanest room we stayed in on our eight-day vacation. This room felt like it was worth the money compared to many other places we stayed, the owner/front desk staff are amazing. Yosemite is so close to this lodge.
The hotel was very comfortable and clean. It is only 15 to 20 minutes from the Big Oak Flat gate for Yosemite National Park and provides an excellent base for visiting the park. Munuj and his wife were excellent hosts and although housekeeping is not provided on a daily basis this was a common finding in other hotels during our stay in California. Housekeeping was offered after we had stayed 2 nights. We had a ground floor room and parking the car outside the room was reassuring. The Lucky Buck diner was only a 50 yard walk and provided traditional diner fare with excellent quality and reasonable prices. Overall we had an excellent stay.
The Yosemite Westgate Lodge was a nice suprise. The Lodge was clean, comfortable, convenient and attractive. It was cute, updated and had nice ammenities. We could walk to the Lucky Buck Diner next door for breakfast and dinner. I would stay here again.
Considering how difficult it is to find accommodations close to/or in the park, this is a great option. Close enough to the Big Oak Flat gate that we could get early starts with no line up at the park. We used the pool and hot tub both nights that we were here. I saw there were comments about the customer service but we didn't have any problems. Asked for pool towels no problem. You can check out by dropping your room keys into a box outside the office. The lobby has a hot water and cold water dispenser, which was great for filling up our Camelbaks the night before. But the second night it was out of water and it hadn't been re-filled when the office opened again in the morning. If you're a birder, this is a bird haven! Rooms were quiet and clean.
This place is like a little oasis in the middle of no where! It’s very clean, super cute and has a small gift shop inside. The couple was very nice that runs it. We felt safe, and had a good nights sleep after being in Yosemite all day! Has hot tub, playground and pool! Would stay again!
When choosening where to stay on our 2 day visit to Yosemite we chose this location due to how close to the park it was and the resturant next door. We spent two days at the hotel. We had a bottom floor room and really like having our car right in front of our room for easy access to getting luggage from car to room. The room was clean and well kept. There was both a microwave and fridge in the room. The hotel offers a fire pit along with a pool and hot tub, which saw a number of guests using while we were there. The hotel sits on 120 and is about a 30 minute from the park. There is a restaurant located next door and offers bfast/lunch and dinner at reasonable prices.
We stayed at this lodge for 2 nights when we were unable to get reservations inside Yosemite NP. The lodge was modern and well-maintained. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. They even gave us a free upgrade to a larger room. The on-site restaurant was also very good.
This is not a bad review. I just want people to be aware of the rules this property has because of Covid hardship and cost cutting: 1. No housekeeping available - You need to keep all dirty towels in your room itself for the entire period of stay and get fresh towel by going to front desk and asking each time. But you can not hand them over dirty towels. 2. This also means no one fixes your bed or changes bed sheets. Again, you need to keep all dirty ones in the room for the entire period of stay and get fresh ones by going to front desk and asking each time. 3. The safe in your room might not be working and the chances are that it is permanently non functional. 4. The thermostat is set permanently at 68 degrees F. You can not reduce it any further if you feel hot.
