Update now that we've stayed: We highly recommend Yosemite Pines Resort. From making our reservation to arrival and throughout our entire stay we loved everything. My 4 1/2 year old says the best part of our Yosemite trip was the animals in the petting zoo and the pool, half dome and the amazing waterfalls have nothing on collecting eggs and feeding the llamas, donkeys, chickens and petting the bunnies. There are accommodations for everyone from the cutest covered wagons, cabins, RV spaces, and Yurts. We had friendly neighbors, warm showers, breakfast from the deli and helpful folks at the general store. We can’t wait to come back. 5 stars all the way! Booking process: I need to thank Jasmine for her above and beyond customer service through our somewhat high maintenance booking process. I will update my review after our stay in a few weeks but, so far the experience has been friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. We would have booked a Yosemite vacation in our new RV without being able to enter the park without Jasmine's patience getting us the right info. We also had to change things around for various reasons several times. I literally called one day four times and could still her friendliness and helpfulness on the other end of the line. I am so excited to visit. Let the good times roll.…
We stayed here just shy of a full week, and us, the dog and the grandkids had a great time. I found the only people to think the staff was rude were people who don't like the COVID 19 protocols in place. They are short-staffed, and I get that, so be nice. There are mask rules, and they are easy to follow. Buildings and petting zoo when people are around. Done. We stayed in our own RV. Sites had full hook-ups. One of my granddaughters loved going to feed the animals during feeding times. Staff was super friendly to her when she was late for one of them because we had been in the park. They told her to hang on and they would be back to open it when they finished another chore they had to do. She was thrilled! There were times the bathrooms weren't as clean as they could be. I don't put that just on staff. People need to do better when using public places. Clean up after yourselves. There is no excuse for not flushing toilets or paper on the ground. Showers had warm water that lasted a nice long time. The onsite store wasn't stocked with much, but it is 7 minutes to the grocery store in Groveland. Super easy and convenient. Pool was closed, and that's okay. We went and hung out at the Rainbow Pools. (They have a map on the wall of the office.) They did have ice cream, so we were stoked! I would say my biggest complaint was trying to navigate the nature trail that went around the resort. It wasn't always clear where to go, and seemed to dead end. This is by no means a deal breaker. I was walking my dog, so she didn't mind wandering around. LOL! Super close to the Yosemite entrance! I like the West entrance to the park much better than the south one. We were able to break up the areas of Yosemite that we visited so we wouldn't be overwhelmed in one day. Fun things- there is a dog who lives across the road that comes by to see if he can get any food out of you. His name is Buckshot. He's friendly, so even if you shoo him away, be nice about it. 2 of the bunnies from the petting zoo have escaped and you can see them out in the mornings and evenings. They are black and white, so easy to figure out they are not wild bunnies. (Well, they are now!) There is a playground. The petting zoo can be fun, and you can also feed the alpaca and donkeys through the fence. (We asked what we would be allowed to feed them before we did that.) You'll enjoy yourself if you accept that things just aren't normal right now. If you are the type to complain about COVID while home, you will be less happy while out. Be nice. These people are doing the best they can as well. (And if you are from a state that doesn't follow the same COVID guidelines, remember the travel rule of When In Rome.)…
Deluxe Cabin for 6 was not as nice as photos show. The cabin was a very tight space, extremely narrow walkway and bathroom (which smelled of urine until I put a towel over the vent). The loft with double bed upstairs was only accessible by crawling (you can only be on your knees because the ceiling is probably 3 feet). The TV's do not work except for DVDs (no cable). Couch cushions very work and uncomfortable. The table and remote control were STICKY all over. I found food crumbs in cookware. Anyone 6' or taller or overweight will feel cramped in this tiny cabin, and it's the DELUXE. I was feeling claustrophobic. I doubt its cleaning is COVID requirements. The email and website say you can take the Yart to Yosemite National Park right from the campsite. They fail to mention this is only true during the summer months. The convenience store is extremely limited.…
We rented two cabins in December for a brief family trip to Yosemite and overall had a very good experience. We were super excited to find an affordable place to stay close to Yosemite that was actually still OPEN. With all of our adult children home for the holidays for the first time in 3 years, we were so happy not to have to cancel our Yosemite trip when most of our other holiday plans were affected by the restrictions. Pros: The website shows all rental options in great detail. The website also detailed the covid closures and restrictions, so we were aware prior to arriving. Again, we were just happy that the resort found a way to stay open. Staff was friendly when I called several times with questions and made helpful recommendations. Booking online was easy. We received detailed instructions how to get our keys since we planned to arrive after hours. Upon arrival, we found everything exactly as described plus a map to our cabins with all necessary instructions printed on the back. Both cabins were meticulously clean. They are a little worn, but very cute and cozy. So warm on a cold December night. Efficient use of every inch of space. Beds are average, not the most comfortable but not horrible. The microwave and refrigerator were in great working order and we appreciated finding silverware, plates, paper towels etc. which made preparing a late night snack and simple breakfast a snap. There is plenty of room to park right in front of the cabin. The cabins were even equipped with a functioning TV and blue ray player. The location is ideal. Just off Highway 120. To reach the resort, just drive through the town of Groveland and then turn off on Old Highway 120. We went for a late night walk around the resort and enjoyed a beautiful clear starry sky. It's an easy drive to the gates of Yosemite, about 30 minutes away. ( During our visit, Yosemite was only open for day use, so getting their early was important to us.) Even with the petting zoo closed, we were able to see the llamas and donkeys and give them a little pet through the fence. Very cute! Animals look healthy and well taken care of. Both our cabin and the public restroom were clean, well lit and stocked with soaps and other supplies. Definitely felt safe and the individual cabins allow for easy social distancing. Check out was quick and easy, basically just dropping the key off at the general store and a receipt was emailed to me. Things to know/minor concerns: I couldn't figure out how to reserve 2 cabins at once on their reservation system and ended up reserving them separately. Signage to the resort could be better, we almost missed the turn. If you don't like dogs, this is not your resort. We were greeted in the morning by dogs running free around our cabin. Very friendly dogs which we enjoyed petting, but this may not be everyone's comfort level. We did hear other guests' dogs barking at night (for about 30 minutes) which woke up a few family members. Other than that, the resort was very quiet when we visited, only a few sites and cabins were occupied during our stay (winter and covid). I would imagine it gets lively in summer, especially for those staying in yurts or tents. We walked by the yurts and could hear people talking (I mean, it's basically a tent). So if you are looking for more quiet, I would definitely recommend the cabins over the wagons or tents. Still, you can hear dogs and your neighbors if they choose to be noisy. Overall again, had a great experience and would recommend to any family traveling to Yosemite.…
I was looking for wagon rentals and although the wagons at Yosemite Pines Resort & RV Park were booked, they had plenty of cabins available so I booked one. We ended up having a great stay at this resort! There are several different styles of cabins available, we chose the one with the separate bedroom. The cabin had a full kitchen so I was able to cook dinner for the family. There was also a fire pit in from of the cabin that e could have used. The hotel also had an electric fire place in the living room. It was furnished with linens for the bedroom as well as the sleeper sofa. There was also a table that seats 4. On site there is a small petting zoo and a playground. There are tent camping sites and sites for RV’s. The grounds are well kept. There is a general store in the rental office that has food as well as cooking tools. This resort is approximately 20 minutes from they Yosemite gate. I would certainly stay here again!…
We had a problem after hours with our trailer. Ranger Markus came by and helped us out and figured out what was wrong and fixed it. He had great customer service and wanted to make sure and appreciate him for his time and and kindness. Thank you
We stayed 2 nights in one of the Conestoga covered wagons for a special experience. The price was a bit steep, but you are paying for the novelty. Wagon was spacious and super clean. Bed was comfy. The resort stocked the wagon with regular motel room stuff (shampoo, soap, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave). Air conditioning worked great! Convenient outlets available near the bed. There was also a large table and a couple chairs inside the wagon. Canvas door and screen zip shut and they provide you with a zipper lock. Outside water spigot and picnic table at each site.. The wagon/cabin area has their own bathroom/shower house, separate from the RV area. Grounds and bathrooms clean, and stocked. Campground was incredibly quiet during the first week of September. We enjoyed our stay. Only 20 minutes to Yosemite entrance.…
We stopped in last Thursday, inquiring about a paid shower for the evening (we were staying in the national forest nearby) and accommodations for the following night(s). Tom was very patient with the steady flow of questions from guests and visitors, providing information about the fire and how it was affecting the power situation at the facility. He gave us a discount on the shower, considering the hot water might be down due to the power issues--it wasn't!--and graciously answered all of my inquiries about air quality and concerns over the spread of the fire. I was very impressed with his command of knowledge of the area and, again, patience with guests. The facility itself is expansive. We are car campers but the yurt sites, though on the pricey side, are on our sights for our next stay. The campsite itself was lovely, with the grounds hovering around half capacity--probably due to concerns over the nearby fire. Amenities were limited due to Covid, but we spent most of our time in the Park so it wasn't a concern. This was a great option for those arriving from or heading to Yosemite's Northwest entrance, as the elevation was higher than the popular West entrance (El Portal) so summer temperatures were more bearable here. Overall, I'd highly recommend based on the good service and breadth of amenities offered--especially after the pandemic calms down a bit.…
I/we spent my 61st birthday there and thought a few things could have been better. I know COVID-19 was around and they where NOT fully functional, but they said that they where Sold Out. When I went inside to check-in, they seemed to act as if I was Headless. They where very Rude, because I did not have a Mask on, and cannot where one because of Health reasons! They could of been much nicer when they spoke to me, but they said go outside to the side window... it would of been nice to know that ahead of time, rather than treat me badly. The B-Bathrooms where Closed, due to C-19, why, who knows? The C-Bathrooms had broken Shower and Toilet stalls and could have been Clean more often since C-19. The A-Bathrooms where my bathroom of choice, even though we stayed in C-Section. They where Cleaner, but not Stocked and still had couple of broken stalls! They need to share with there Future Customers that the Pool is CLOSED, due to C-19. Really don't know why, ALL other water sports are Open elsewhere. There Deli was even Closed, but could of had outdoor seating for those that wanted to eat there or even offered To-Go food. Oh, to top it off, the Cabin that we stayed in had No Paper-towels and I asked the girl and she said... we don't stock the cabins with paper-towels, and then she said it's because of C-19. Then what was the real reason? lol They could of discounted the fee's if they did not have everything up and running. I will think twice if we will ever stay there again!…
We camped here for 7 days. Checked in and was told no pool or other amenities due to Covid. Ok, we understand. As we go into Yosemite and travel around everyday we notice other hotels and RV parks have open pools. I look up the county restrictions and a pool can be open if you keep it safe for guests! I call the office to ask why the pool is not open as the Covid excuse is not valid and the person at the desk says "Have you seen our pool, it is filthy. There are much better places to swim around here. Travel to them". After hiking, golfing or traveling, it would be nice to take a dip without having to travel somewhere else in 112 degree heat! We are paying for these amenities but no discount, preparing us with an email that states they do not have it open or something would have been nice. Many, many other campers were grumbling about it and how they were disappointed with the campground for lying about Covid being the reason. Save your money and go to a different place.…
