Visiting son in CA the week before Christmas. I haven't stayed in a motel in years but the ratings on Sakura Motel were so good and the price so competitive that we took a leap. I will ALWAYS stay at the Motel now. Room 304 (top floor) was their base room (no fireplace room). The room was SUPER CLEAN, LARGE, the bed was sooo COMFORTABLE. The decor was simple, trendy and just perfect. Loved the charcoal building with the great red doors. Location could not be beat. There was some road noise which I am not used to but to be expected. Next time I will ask for the room tucked back by the elevator in the crook of the L sharped building. I think it would be more quiet (faces back away from the road) even though I usually ask to be away from elevators. Next time I will also upgrade to the fireplace room for ambiance. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this lodging. Everyone we encountered were happy and helpful. We even did laundry on site…
This place is a great value. So much so I'm a bit reluctant to even write this review. I arrived close to midnight much later than planned due to flight delays and immediately found someone at the front desk. I did call ahead around 6pm local time of my late arrival so that may have helped. I recommending calling if you're arriving after 8pm or so if this is your first time as the motel parking lot is gated. Check-in was easy, friendly and efficient. The newly remodeled room was very welcoming on arrival. Everything was clean, comfortable and quiet. The water pressure in the shower was amazing - much better than at the big chain hotels (starting with an H) I have stayed numerous times in the past nearby. I set up my laptop on a small table next to the bed. WiFi speeds seem to be fine with a 327MB file taking about 7 minutes to upload. There are two EV charging stations on the property and I was told they are free for guests to use. I will come back and I'm eager to take my spouse here when I'm back in the area.…
I have given Motel Sakura a 5-Star rating not because it is the best Hotel I have ever stayed in as I have stayed in some gems, however as far as Motel's go 'Sakura' is a whole new level. Despite a very typical 'Motel' looking exterior do not be fooled. When you go through the shiny red door into your room you are greeted with a room that is spacious, very clean, freshly refurbished and super comfortable. Everything was brand new, in perfect working order and quality. The manager was super nice too and let us extend our room by an hour to make our check-out more convenient for our travel to LAX to catch our flight home to the UK. There was ample secure parking and an elevator to the upper floor rooms. I was in room 201 and my colleague was in 202 and we were both super happy with our stay at Motel Sakura. We paid US$146 (inc taxes) for our rooms and it was by far the best value and nicest rooms we'd stayed in during our week long Californian road-trip. Highly recommended.…
Hands down the best covid safe/conscious place we’ve stayed in 2 years. So clean, comfortable, friendly, easy check in, spacious and updated rooms. Huge mini fridge and microwave in room. Comfortable beds. Quiet and safe area. Such a hidden gem! We will definitely be back!
Wow. Quiet. Fast check in. Room is clean, and comfortable. Location is great. All in all a great place to stay. Rain shower and huge walk in shower to boot. Re-model recently and everything, while simple, is a good simple. Nothing to much and just plain comfortable.
The Bad: No bathroom door??? Air conditioner is super loud--think jet plane turbine on take-off. DEAL KILLER! The Good: Good motion activated parking lot steel gate, but tough for guests with no car who walk after dark (poor idea anyway). TCL flat-screen TV ~50". The Ugly: (repeat) No bathroom door. The motel is renting unfinished rooms. (In my photos, the doors can be seen stacked in the parking area.) Conclusion: Motel Sakura is dumping unfinished or undesirable rooms using online discounters. Instead, try to stay in downtown Glendale (near "The Americana" shopping area). This is my fifth and last time near East Colorado and the Glendale (2) Freeway. However, IF you want Popeye's Fried Chicken next door then this motel MAY be for you.
We stayed for one night. Very nice hotel for the budget. We were surprised for how nice the hotel is for the location and money. It is super clean and spacious, looks very new in side. The staff is very nice too. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Paid for hotel room. The day before, my brother confirmed the reservation with the hotel as well. When my brother went to check in my 70+ year old mother and aunt, they were denied because they "travelled." Isn't that why people get hotel rooms? Hopefully will get money back.
The motel is on a busy street - Colorado Blvd.- but the property is a quiet gem of a motel. Once inside the spacious, newly redecorated, spotlessly clean rooms, it is quiet. I was there with some friends, but we all had our own rooms. I felt very safe! The owners are extremely friendly and hospitable. What a treasure in the middle of busy, crowded Glendale. Definitely will stay there again!
This motel is close to some of the main sights of LA (Hollywood sign, sunset boulevard, walk of Fame..) The price is in line with the service and the facilities provided. Cheaper than other accommodation. Clean and recently renovated. The lady at the reception is very helpful.
