Overpriced, disgusting place. Bed was ancient and sagging, toilet wouldn't stop running. Smelled gross, vagrants everywhere. Please don't stay here. It's just gross. We ended up leaving at 10pm and driving 90 miles rather than spend another second there. As a matter of fact, just pass on through Garberville. It's nice at first glance but NOT!! Oh and it was...

Okay, I usually try to see the bright side of things but this place really missed the mark. I had to refuse the first room (Rm 19) that I was assigned because when I opened the door, I nearly gagged from the reek of some terribly foul odour. The owner came to check it out, agreed with me, and said...

Motel choices in Garberville are quite limited, and while this place is not anything special, at $100/night it's the least expensive choice of the acceptable motels in town. The location is excellent, and it offers a microwave, mini-fridge, tub/shower, free in-room coffee, and HBO. Unfortunately the wifi is poor-to-nonexistant, the place has seen better days, the front desk person was...

The Sherwood Forest Motel is a fallen-on-hard times motel in the somewhat spooky town of Garberville. This is your typical, somewhat dilapidated motel room, with the 1970s wood panelled walls, windows uneasy in their tracks, fascinating nonworking wall-radio from the past. It is the kind of motel where they give you the remote with your room key as you check...

I have stayed here several times with no complaints, not this time. My aunt and I arrived on Sunday afternoon and checked in to room 28 a wheelchair accessible room, which we did not need. We wanted to shower and rest a while before we headed out, we could not find the soap, the sink area and mirror were dirty...

Oh brother, this motel was one of the worst I've ever stayed at in the U.S. and was on par with some hotels that I've stayed at in developing nations. No idea where to even begin with the problems. We should have known when, driving up, we saw cats and dogs drinking from the pool. The one "plus" I will...

It is pretty run down, but clean and right in the center of town. No hot water, pool not heated, but it kept us sheltered until we were ready to head out to the Redwoods the next morning. Met some nice hippies there!

My stay here was the worst out of 22 hotel nights I spent on the road this month. The room was tiny, the rug was stained and ragged, the curtains were broken and wouldn't close properly, and the industrial fluorescent lighting made me feel like I was staying a factory. The pictures don't fully convey how shabby the place was....

this is an old, rundown motel that could use a lot of sprucing up. the room was good size, as was the bathroom, but they were in desparate need of a paint job. surfaces were clean but the room should have a deep cleaning. positives: microwave, fridge, in-room coffee, ancient tv with about 60 tv channels, good heat and airconditioning...

On a Memorial Weekend road trip, my friend and I were searching the North Coast for a place to stay. Fort Bragg was quite booked-up, so we drove north until we found Garberville. The Best Western was full, so we decided to give Sherwood Forest a try. This isn't the worst kind of motel. In fact, it felt very safe....
