great place to stay, went for a mini getaway, surrounded by redwoods, clean room well maintained, close to everything. peaceful, close to the main road, but quiet, good family place, often booked so if you think you want to go I would suggest booking soon, close to the woods and 15 minutes away from the beach

Cabin was very clean and cozy. Beautiful views of river. Fun games for kids and families. Would love to stay again. So many great places to sit and hang out or read a book. River floating was enjoyed by the family. Till next time Fern River

We loved this hotel. It was like a little apartment we had everything we needed. Beautiful views of the redwood trees all around us. The room was very clean and kept up. Friendly staff. Restaurants and shops were not that far away.

My husband and I had booked a cabin for a couple of days in June. We sent our $200 deposit in January. Paid in full. 2 weeks before we were due to arrive, I ended up in the emergency room with blood pressure issues and was told not to travel. I had to do a follow-up with my regular physician...

We booked this place because it was a great deal compared to motels in Santa Cruz. The property was beautiful and well cared for. Cabin 12 was clean, comfortable, and quaint. (Though the water heater was so loud after a shower we thought there was a laundry dryer on the other side of the wall.) Here are some things you...

The Fern River Resort is a pleasant collection of cabins just off Highway 9 and alongside the river. I had a cozy cabin with a large deck facing the San Lorenzo river with the Henry Cowell Redwoods state park on the other side, so quite a pleasant setting. Inside, the cabins are a bit dated, but clean and comfortable, with...

It was 1st off interesting how we found this lovely place. We normally have at least one camping trip at Big Basin yearly and somehow we never really saw this place but have seen the one down a couple miles beyond as you drive towards Santa Cruz. Both have cabins and I think which one you choose depends on your...

Our stay at the Fern River Resort lasted six days. It's already an adventure to get to Felton because of the curvy roads through the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains and its forests. But the resort is easy to find. The grounds of the actual resort were well kept and very clean in a nice surrounding. The young lady at the...

The location and atmosphere around the grounds are beautiful and serene. A really nice setting for a peaceful get away. The bathroom was a little on the poor side, leaky, very small shower and worn out towels. This isn't a hotel, more like a cabin, so you need to bring your own coffee, shampoo, blow dryer, etc... They do not...

We wanted a location near Big Basin Redwoods state park, and so we picked Fern River resort. What I liked best was the location, in a canyon with lots of trees and redwoods, shady and lovely. The cabin we had was fine for the three nights. It was fairly large with a queen sized bed, coffee maker, microwave, refrig. Everything...
