We booked a river facing room and it was well worth the expensive tag. Wewould go back again when it rains again in abundance as the view is simply breathtaking. Its close to Yosemite entrance which is another plus point.
This hotel is a perfect base for a visit to Yosemite National Park as it is just 2 miles outside of the park, and close to Yosemite Valley. The hotel obviously realizes that they can charge excessive prices because of its location and still be...More
This place is beautiful with a very good restaurant. Not too far away is a fun brewpub. We came for the Bass Lake fireworks and the Gateway made our stay great. The room was very clean, enough space and a huge bathroom with enough room...More
Some Staff was helpful some not quite, as I think they were short staffed. Great free upgrade of our room but bedding was stuffed up as we ordered two beds and opened the door to one. We rang reception and the lady said to come...More
Due to Detweiler wildfire, we got stuck in Yosemite Park and had to find last minute lodging, which is nearly impossible!! I am not sure if we got "the last room at the inn" due to kismet, or the fact that they had no power,...More

Hi there. We took the YARTS bus from Mariposa to the park at 6:15 am and there was absolutely no wait to get into the park. I don't think there was a separate bus lane, just good timing! The buses are wonderful! Very comfortable! Unfortunately, while we were at the park, the town of Mariposa was evacuated due to wildfire and the buses stopped running there. That is how we ended up at the Yosemite View Lodge...with no power! Such an adventure! Be prepared!! On the bus ride back to the lodge, we did sit in a ton of traffic. So, I think if you time it right...get there early in the morning and leave at 3 or 4, you should be fine either driving your own vehicle or taking the bus! Have a wonderful trip!
Although the road was being repaired to go into the park when we were there in May, it was not a very long delay. We really enjoyed staying at Yosemite View Lodge and thought the rooms and facilities were great.
