All I can say is WOW! My wife and I recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach with our two children and had an incredible experience! From dining at the Beach Club, to hanging out in the pool and infinity jacuzzi this resort is top of the line! While checking in with Will at the front desk we explained to him that we were there to have a weekend as a family! He was quick to tell us all about the resort and surrounding area! What came next was something we have never experienced! Our son who is 6 has autism and is non verbal! Upon speaking with Will about this he immediately took our two kids over to a treasure check where he allowed both of them to pick out a toy! After our son chose the toy he wanted Will immediately sat down with him and started playing with the toy with our child! The face on our son was something we will never forget! The fact that one of your staff members took time out of their busy day to interact with our child who is often overlooked by others made a lasting impact on us and him! Thank you Will for showing kindness in a world that isn’t always so kind! We will definitely be telling everyone about our experience and will be back again! …
From the moment I was helped from my car by a couple of bellmen, I felt well taken care of. I was there for a conference and we had most of the hotel booked so the common areas felt like our own little neighborhood. Very classy decor (my room had been remodeled just 3 weeks ago - Rm 484) The bedding is cool and comfortable and changed daily if desired. Our housekeepers Alejandra and Ilina were a delight and always available for an extra towel or water. The catering was excellent - especially the sushi/ceviche bar one night. We had dinner at both Bourbon Steakhouse and Aveo (Private room which was lovely) Great service by Bruce and everything was amazing. Highly recommend the Churros for dessert! Also the Black Bean "burger" was delicious...sat at the bar and service was good and food great. Impress your clients with lunch down at the beach club! So different than the usual dining up at the hotel. Also enjoyed a pool side spinning class one morning with Sheri and loved it. They were power washing the street at the residences next door so not as relaxing on the patio some parts of the day.…
Excellent place We held our son’s wedding and had an amazing time. Would recommend it to all nears and dears. They provided what they promised. All events were held in a timely manner. All guests were impressed and enjoyed themselves.
In summary, my wife and I stayed at The Waldorf Monarch Beach for our anniversary a few weeks ago. I purchased flowers which caused a hold to be placed on our room until we arrived. After checking in, I came back to the front desk to ask for a room change, requesting ground floor access (which I had on a previous stay) so that we could enter and exit during Sabbath since we could not use the electronic keys. The representative named Daniel oddly asked me for my ID (instead of name or room number) and ultimately said to my face “we’re having an attitude problem here”. Presumably he lacked the intellect to understand my request coupled with a horrible attitude. Another rep effortlessly accommodated my request. I returned in the morning to inform the supervisor of my interaction. Sarah Duncan told me I was not the first to complain about Daniel. She apologized and stated that he was already being demoted and would likely be fired. She said she would greatly appreciate it if I could please email her the details of my experience. After my stay, I took the time to send her a detailed account and requested confirmation that my complaint would be forwarded to the appropriate management. I received no response to my initial email or to my follow up email 2 weeks later. Eventually I contacted the property manager, who informed me Sarah Duncan had forwarded him my complaint, but made no comment on the fact that she had never responded to me. Complete waste of time... Bottom line is that there's a difference between care and lip service. If you want to be treated with dignity, this might not be the Waldorf location for you. Waldorf responded that they're glad they were able to accommodate my room change, but no specific apology for the way Daniel and Sarah Duncan treated us.…
My family enjoyed a nice staycation here and the resort was wonderful. We had a great time. The rooms are nice, the resort is beautiful, the service was on point, and the food was delicious. We look forward to coming back again and would highly recommend the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. Thank you Waldorf for your great service and providing a wonderful experience!
We stayed here for a couple of nights over the New Years Eve holiday. The grounds and hotel were decorated very nicely for Christmas and the holidays. The staff were very professional and paid attention to detail. The stay was very comfortable, relaxing, and the beach was very scenic. We would definitely stay again. I wish that they would put a Waldorf Astoria in every city.
Excellent customer service from front desk to The Beach Boys who helped set up chairs and umbrellas. Stayed for our anniversary and got a nice bottle of complimentary champagne and even dessert during dinner. I’m Diamond and we got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite, which was a nice surprise. Highly recommended (actually we already convinced our friends who booked after a month!).
The grounds and hotel are stunning. The beach club is beautiful, and best of all the service is what you would expect at a high end hotel. We enjoyed the pools, hot tubs, the tram service to the beach, and the gorgeous beach itself. Umbrellas were available everywhere in case of a winter downpour. All of the staff are unobtrusive yet attentive, and so focused on you having a great stay…and nobody ever makes tipping awkward. Everything is cared for just so. you’ll catch quiet conversations about the fresh flower arrangements, people wiping down seats at a tram stop while confirming that yes there is indeed good fishing in this little bay, staff offering your kids toys from a treasure chest giving the adults a chance to talk to the other concierge…basically, never just one person doing any job - they have a ton of staff to cater to your every question and need. Turndown service brought extra towels when they observed how many of us were in the room and filled our ice for us, along with replenshing our water. We had young kids with us so sit-down meals are an ordeal for us - we really appreciated the little Part and Parcel market that had surprisingly good food to-go. I’m still thinking about that yogurt parfait and the pastries. On our way out, one of the managers at the front desk made our day: thank you Will Stevens for being so sweet to us, reversing the little error on our bill and helping us maximize our resort credits. We had the most wonderful new year’s eve in a long time being tended to at this resort instead of doing our usual thing winding down at home. It’s kind of a special place!…
Used a free night reward plus points as Hilton Diamond Members. Was Upgraded to a fireside terrace room which was perfect for our family. We enjoyed s’mores on a rainy night.m. Our room was in front of the Christmas tree which made it so festive plus it had easy access to the pool. Breakfast at Aveo - try the granola French toast. There is also a buffet available. shoutout to our server Kelly! Tram access to the beach club was quick and without a long wait. The beach was glorious, especially coming from rainy Oregon :) Played volleyball on the beach; they had beach chairs and towels, as well as the Beach club for lunch and dinner. Tip: bring water! They have a station for that but walking all the way from your perch on the beach to the station might dissuade you from drinking. There were two pools, both with excellent views, and spa pools. As a Diamond Member, I had early check in and late check out, in addition to the room upgrade and F&B credit. It’s not an inexpensive stay, but it was worth it for us since we got to spend much needed time relaxing and recharging. Highly recommend for a splurge stay! …
We were truly impressed with our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. The hotel is large and feels like an expansive resort. Many of the rooms face the beach, so you are likely to have a view. Overall the setting of this hotel could not be better. It is in such a beautiful area! Befitting a resort of this scale there are a few restaurant choices. While I thought the variety of the food could have been better (including the pool side menu), the setting of the restaurants was nice and the food tasted pretty good. We felt that the best menu was the breakfast menu at the main restaurant Aveo. Great variety and all really good! The only disappointing restaurant was Bourbon Steak. We actually had Thanksgiving dinner here and it did not feel like it was worth the price. The Beach Club is a great amenity - you can take a quick shuttle ride to the beach and hang out and/or get a meal. The restaurant has such a beautiful setting - definitely worth dining here at some point! The rooms felt comfortably spacious. One thing I didn’t like - and don’t like in pretty much any hotel - is that the bathroom had shutters that could open up to the main room. This is not great if, for example, you use the bathroom in the middle of the night and you don’t want to wake the others in the room. There is one main pool area with two separate pools - this configuration meant that there was always plenty of room even during a busy week. The pool staff was great and attentive. This hotel felt like it was much nicer than I had been expecting - very impressed!…
