The Guesthouse Eyjolfsstadir is in an out of town location near Egilstadir. It has very nice simple rooms with shared facilities and a very nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast. It's far enough from the town that you have a very good chance of seeing the Northern Lights if they are happening.

We spent one night here in August. Our room (no 3) was clean, cosy and comfortable, but rather small - we had a double bed with one side up against the wall. Others I glimpsed looked larger. Possibly the price we paid for being a couple as opposed to 2 sharing a twin room. I agree with other reviewers that...

This is a farmhouse located in a green, picturesque area of East Iceland only nine kilometers south of the lovely town of Egilsstaðir. I was extremely fortunate to have my own “house” whose entire upstairs was converted into a cozy and super quiet apartment (Room 35). No other guests stayed in that house, although there was an unmade-up room adjacent...

Our 10 day guided tour of Iceland by minibus brought us here for one night.in June. When we got to our bedroom we found that the beds were not made up, but we were very quickly switched to another room. That was the only glitch in the whole visit. As a group we had been able to book a three...

Compared with other Hostels in Iceland around 100 € per night, this Hostel is quiet good! The stuff is very friendly and makes all guests comfortable within the first minute. The Rooms and shared bathrooms are very clean and friendly furnished. The breakfast was good Standard, too, everything was fine. We would be lucky, if every Hostel in the world...

I must preface this review by saying that I did not actually stay in the farm house itself. There was a mix-up with our reservation and only 1 room was booked. The managers gave us the whole top floor of the workers house. It was no frills but really cool. Huge rooms, a kitchen and bathroom all too ourselves and...

A very calm and relaxed place with fresh and bright rooms. Comfortable beds. Super friendly staff. Nice surroundings. We loved the breakfast! This guesthouse is a good one night stop when travelling the ring road by car. No dinner in the evening, but there are some options in the town a short drive away. The price is good. We enjoyed...

It was rainy and cloudy and the only thing to do was to get some rest at the hotel. we went in and almost immediately felt like coming home. The habit to take our shoes off, the kindness of Fredric and his wife, the cake at afternoon tea and the arrangement of the guesthouse gave us that great feeling. We...

This guesthouse incorporates a modern church which is unusual, but our family had 2 twin rooms directly off the church which made for a very peaceful stay. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. As other reviewers have said, there are only 2 toilets upstairs, but there is an additional room downstairs with a row of toilet cubicles, so it...

Great place to spend a few nights at. Lovely service and surroundings! Close to many of the must-see attractions in the area! One of the best places we stayed at during our trip around Iceland! The farm house feeling plus the friendly staff made this guesthouse unforgettable for us
