Wife and I arrived on a cold, wet Monday evening. Room ("loft") was clean but furniture was mix 'n match. Wall heater was not working but Mark got us 2 portable heaters. I couldn't get hot water out of the shower until Mark explained the shower control (the plumbing must be crossed) and he turned on both the shower and...

We spent one night at Elim Grove Cottages this fall and had the most wonderful time. The first night we arrived, Mark was there to welcome us with one of his kids and invited us to join him for a campfire out in their backyard. It felt like we were family. After a long drive, it was really nice to...

We loved our experience in Mark's cottages in Cazadero. This was one of the most unique, friendly, artistic and off-beat (in a good way!) places we had ever been. At times it felt like a different world! We arrived for the Friday night pizza party which was a blast. Our cottage was cozy and charming, decorated with interesting antique items....

Elim Grove cottages used to be hunting lodges that the owner Mark Weiss converted into comfortable cozy accommodations. Guests in Elim Grove also get to savor free freshly baked award winning breads for breakfast. Best I have ever had so far. there is a grilling area where guests can, do their own grilling, and sip wine available at Raymonds Bakery...

We wanted a getaway from the madding crowd of the city and a place where we could access the forest and ocean in a couple of days. We did not anticipate that we would be treated to some of the best baked things that we'd eaten in a long time would be there, nor did we expect the warm and...

These cottages are very unique, cozy and quiet. The drive through the forests to get there is lovely. Mark is a great host, very generous. Everything we tried at his bakery was fresh and delicious. He has pretty much restored these historic cottages by hand and you can see the special touches from his labor of love.

My short review: The bakery and cottages simply surpassed all of my expectations. My longer review: The Food: My 5 year old son said it best, “Mark is a samurai baker!” I agree. Everything I ate at the bakery was delicious. The proprietors left two treats for us in our cabin on arrival: a raspberry square and a brownie that...

On your approach, you may think "what have I gotten myself into?" but beautiful surprises await this wonderful getaway. Very cozy, relaxing cottages - beautifully furnished; amazing breakfast provided, including yogurt and hard boiled eggs as well as beautifully prepared baked goods. A bonus - outdoor seating around a wonderful firepit, bring your apps and vino along to share! Mark...
