We found the campground wonderful, especially the proximity to the beach and hiking trail, not far from shopping. The price was right, reservations recommended, a must in fact if you want your choice of sites.

We went to the state beach here in Carpinteria yesterday and it was great. Not to crowded and the weather was great. Small waves and Sandy beach. They claim it is the world's safest beach. We will return. Would I recommend it to others. NO I would just a soon nobody goes there so I can have it all to...

We have been coming here since the 80's and enjoy it so very much. Where else can you have the waves crashing right at your backdoor?! Great tidepools to check out, walk down and see the seals, or just sit in your beach chairs and watchpods of dolfins go by. Reservations can be hard to come by, as it is...

Turned up quite late (8pm) and already dark so got a lovely surprise when I woke up next day. Great little campsite with friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was the noise of the (freight?) trains going through in the night and the roar of the ocean (not really!).

I arrived at Carpinteria SB in disbelief and with great disappointment! The so called camping site was smaller than a Walmart parking space and as busy as a "Black Friday" shopping day with the likes of Walmart regulars roaming in uncontrolled "flocks" of dogs, unsupervised out-of-control kids, and adult gang-like groups with questionable motives. Crowded congestion that rivals a Super...

We wanted to get out of LA for the day and camp and at short notice we booked a spot Carpenteria State beach. Despite it being off-season it was still busy. Seen a few reviews about the staff / rangers being rude / militant. We didn't find that at all, very helpful and left as alone completely. We picked a...

Spent a week there in December and got to see what some bad weather can do to the campsites. Many people asked to move due to chance of wind blowing down trees/branches. Rain caused flooding in some areas which also caused some people to be moved. Restrooms are old and need work, grounds are in need of some serious work...

This is a really great campground with a few issues. Some of the spaces are VERY close together so I recommend previewing campsite pictures on Campsitephotos.com, so you know what your getting. Second, there is tar EVERYWHERE on the beach. You will get it on your feet/kids/dogs/beach stuff. Bring some kind of tar remover. Some of the sites are very...

A perfectly located campground. Right at the beach. We were here in the beginning of September on a beautiful sunny day and only had to walk a few steps to be at the beach. The spots are spacious and have a barbecue and a picknicktable. There was nothing else to ask for more.

We scheduled months ahead, cleared our schedules and packed up for a two night camping trip. We discussed our reservations directly with the campground and with Reserve America And reserved a "premium" closest to the beach campsite. Upon our arrival we arrived at very rough campsite( like many beach site), but the site was over 50 yards from 20 '...
