I arrived at Carpinteria SB in disbelief and with great disappointment! The so called camping site was smaller than a Walmart parking space and as busy as a "Black Friday" shopping day with the likes of Walmart regulars roaming in uncontrolled "flocks" of dogs, unsupervised out-of-control kids, and adult gang-like groups with questionable motives. Crowded congestion that rivals a Super...

We wanted to get out of LA for the day and camp and at short notice we booked a spot Carpenteria State beach. Despite it being off-season it was still busy. Seen a few reviews about the staff / rangers being rude / militant. We didn't find that at all, very helpful and left as alone completely. We picked a...

Spent a week there in December and got to see what some bad weather can do to the campsites. Many people asked to move due to chance of wind blowing down trees/branches. Rain caused flooding in some areas which also caused some people to be moved. Restrooms are old and need work, grounds are in need of some serious work...

This is a really great campground with a few issues. Some of the spaces are VERY close together so I recommend previewing campsite pictures on Campsitephotos.com, so you know what your getting. Second, there is tar EVERYWHERE on the beach. You will get it on your feet/kids/dogs/beach stuff. Bring some kind of tar remover. Some of the sites are very...

A perfectly located campground. Right at the beach. We were here in the beginning of September on a beautiful sunny day and only had to walk a few steps to be at the beach. The spots are spacious and have a barbecue and a picknicktable. There was nothing else to ask for more.

We scheduled months ahead, cleared our schedules and packed up for a two night camping trip. We discussed our reservations directly with the campground and with Reserve America And reserved a "premium" closest to the beach campsite. Upon our arrival we arrived at very rough campsite( like many beach site), but the site was over 50 yards from 20 '...

We stayed in the group site "raccoon" along with a lot of our church friends. The rv sites are so close together that only the end trailer could put out an awning and it was a good thing we were good friends because there was no room for walking between sites and our slide outs overlapped each other. That being...

This state park is a dump. The bathrooms have not been acid washed and power washed in years and are just disgusting. That is the ones that are not "out of order." I spent 3 days in this state park and the same "out of order" facilities never changed. If you have an RV or Trailer, good luck getting them...

What a little gem! Right on the beach. Friendly staff and close to bike to many mom and pop restaurants and the grocery store. Cute walking trails. The camps spots are all asphalt and were very very small and hard to get into especially if it is crowded. But once you parked it was great. Camp fire ring suck unless...

We tent camped 4 nights in early June at site C213, which is one of the pricier sites along the beach. Here are the PROS: An amazing location. We set our camp chairs in the dune above our site. Each morning we saw dolphins as we sipped our coffee. The kids enjoyed exploring the small tide pools and tar pits,...
