Despite wonderful location, beautiful beach and sea, fantastic pools, service was below required level for a hotel of such rating. We paid all inclusive and it was just a regular full board with “addendums” like drinks (but only a few ones, including 3 types of juices, 1 type of beer and 2 types of coffee) starting from 1 pm. Only one bartender serving hundreds of people. Rooms are a bit shabby and not updated, old almost non protecting sun umbrellas on the beach, not enough sunbeds, especially that they offer them for outsiders…. All in all, the view, the sea and peace and quiet is what is outstanding…all other… They should start working on improvements as soon as possible ad it is a pitty with such position and location not to create something really…WOW
Every year, after returning from our holiday in the Greek islands, my family and I love to relax for a day near Patras, the embarkation port of the ship for Italy. Unlike previous years in which we stopped in Psatopyrgos, this year, due to the unavailability of the usual hotels, we were forced to change our choice and we looked on the map for a beachfront hotel with swimming pool and access to the beach: we booked last Thursday 20 August at the PORTO RIO HOTEL ... A winning choice! Beautiful hotel, excellent location, 2 swimming pools, private parking, excellent quality standards of service and above all cleaning in full compliance with the safety regulations imposed by the Covid-19 emergency. In addition SPA with third private pool, tennis courts and Casino. The surprise began immediately: at check-in the very kind and professional Mrs. Eva offered us a Suite instead of the standard room we booked, at no extra charge. Double sea view room with two balconies, living room and separate bedroom ... all very well furnished! The stay is followed by an excellent buffet dinner on the pool terrace with a splendid view of the sunset and the Rio Bridge and with a very relaxing day in the hotel pools. Fantastic surprise ... above expectations ... WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN!…
Start by imploding everything and get back to the drawing board. I felt I was stuck in time in Soviet era accommodations, the health department or and board of tourism should strip the license from this place because it was apparent that expectations was never thought of when managing this place. It didnt feel like any precautions where taken for the pandemic and instead the hotel felt like post Chernobyl accommodations. Seriously the only reason to stay there would be out of morbid curiosity! I wouldn't have minded going to the Casino and spent some money but it didnt deserve spending any more money than needed already paid for the room. The best part about my family's stay was leaving. The beach was great so they should be grateful that god created that part.
Dispute being in November, our staying was really nice and relatively warm with 20°C. The hotel offer all confort and services. The location is amazing with the view to the beach, mountains and bridge.
The hotel lobby was OK but the rooms need definitely renovation. Are very old type hotel for such charges. Only the swimming pool could be used. We cannot use the spa, the gym and the tennis course without reason, even they mentioned this to their offer. The breakfast was very good, tasteful and has many options. The dinner was good enough, not something special. The personnel was very good and polite. No value for money.
No something special for a hotel of 4th stars. The rooms need a renovation for sure and of course an air condition. The carpet was dirty, there were little flies in the room and only one plugin was working. The breakfast really poor for such a category hotel.
Worst hotel I have ever seen, AI package means you can eat three times a day (stomach filling, no taste to wait) and when one night came three busloads of Chinese tourists had the breakfast table changed to unrecognizable as if it were another hotel Alcohol is available during the day from one beer and wine and eight whiskey, vodka and ouzo. The rest of the alcohol is paid and not cheap.Rum cola costs 8 €. Children get ice cream from 5 pm, not when it is hot by the pool, buy for their money. Tennis courts are owned by someone else and if they are interested, the gate has a phone number to call in. Also no or no neither the Spa nor the gyms worked. After the question, the bangalos had to be sold out, in reality they were just dirty and abandoned (season ended).Transport to the city, the hotel will arrive by bus and take 2€ to the city but where to get back from there could not be found in a week, but not along the same road. There was a carpet in the room, which was good but the tub room was full of cockroaches and since we were in the company, we had cockroaches in all three rooms, so it can be concluded that there are others.…
the hotel is not worth 4 stars, both the hotel and its rooms need renovation, the rooms are all old, the rooms have a mini bar it was emty, (no water at all) the hotel have casino, all time in first floor you feeling cigarettes smoke (i don't know how other floors) . we buy everything included but all drinks from 11 to 23h (strong alcoholic drinks - whiskey and vodka only from 20 to 23) and all cocktails are paid, food choices were not at all (often even cold), I would not recommend this hotel to anyone .
We stayed at the Studio which sleeps 4 (Unit 63). Although the beach is nice and the view is spectacular, be aware that if you stay here you are required to pay a lot for food at the restaurant or if you want to eat at the buffet for any meal. The buffet was approximately 12, 15 and 19 Euros per person for breakfast, lunch and dinner respectively. It was definitely not worth it. Two single cappuccinos cost 8 euros. When we arrived the door lock was broken and we had to get it repaired. When I told them about this issue there was no sort of apology about the broken lock and the front desk staff seemed annoyed and said "What else is wrong?" We were hoping to utilize the kitchen but the stove did not work and there were very few utensils or dishes. (E.g. No coffee pot, toaster, large bowls, etc... There was only one pot, two plates, one fry pan and two butter knives and no sharp cutting knives, etc....). There was no starter kit so we were required to bring our own soap, dish cloth, garbage bags, tea towel, etc... There was no drain in the sink and often there was no hot water. The fridge did not work very well and kept food moderately cool. There was no ability to adjust it to a colder temperature. The floor drain in the bathroom was broken and although we told them about this they just laughed. This is by far the most inferior unit we have stayed at and is definitely not worth the points you pay to stay here. …
Recently stayed for four nights for our silver wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. Very friendly welcome by staff. Room was excellent facing beach with a balcony. Location on Copacabana beach was excellent. We made good use of the roof top pool and the sun loungers in the hotel were excellent. We used the sun loungers on the beach which belong to the hotel. You do need to try and go early to get these beds and they don’t have that many. Breakfast was plentiful and you get a glass of champagne each morning if you want. Very good hotel and we would return if we ever came back
