This was a real treat, a very elegant ryokan experience. We had a beautiful room with a view of the garden. The dinner was amazing - 10-course with full explanations of what all the dishes were and how to eat them. Breakfast was also wonderful....More

We were travelling around Japan for three weeks without reservations and scored when we stayed at this Ryokan. One of the guidebook’s top recommended experiences is to hike along the old Nakasendo post road through a historic preservation area. The hike is a 7.8-kilometer hike...More

We booked the last room. It was a small 6 mat room. Worked perfectly for us. We travel light, don't need a lot of space and having previously lived in Japan for many years we knew what to expect. Our initial emails were very attentively...More
