When I dream of going back to Costa Rica, it is to Borinquen. This secluded and peaceful resort is well worth the bumpy trip to get there. The sprawling grounds boast natural hot springs, natural sauna, mud baths, horseback tours, 4x4 tours, ziplining, hiking trails, a delicious restaurant that features food grown and raised on their land, and service befitting...

We wanted to experience the mountains and not just the beach on our trip to Costa Rica. The property is very spread out and hilly. We were upgraded to Bungalow with a great view. The horseback riding and Zipling was the best. Enjoyed the hot mineral pools and hot lava mud. Best the experience in the morning when all is...

Just got back from an overnight stay at Hotel Borinquen Mountain Resort, and I can't wait to go back. From the delicious welcome drink while checking in, to the beautiful, clean rooms, attentive staff and breathtaking views, this is the place to relax and unwind, or take advantage of the many adventures available. It was spectacular in every regard. Loved...

We stayed here for our honeymoon in October 2016, at the tail end of the rainy season. We pretty much had the resort to ourselves! The room prices had gone down significantly since we had booked our rooms, so during rainy season I would not suggest booking so far ahead of time to take advantage of great deals. I must...

I booked the junior suite for 3 days. I called 1 mount before to prepare all the stuff for our proposal and they made an AMAZING JOB! Thanks for recommend "El Mirador" to made our proposal, a magical place in the top of the mountain with a 360 view. See my picture below.

The property is big, the garden and trees are nice and the dinner options are very good. But the rest of the hotel is very poor. First you should drive in a terrible route for a while to arrive to the hotel. Then, the bungalow is too ugly, old design, poor maintenance, very old furniture and in bad conditions, the...

We booked the junior suites and got to stay in room 504. The room had stunning views being so far up of the mountain and nature - to watch monkeys, toucans and other birds. Very private to relax. They give you a golf cart ride up since it's a hike as many times as you need, walking down was no...

Husband and I visited Hotel Borinquen for a couple of nights and went in with pretty realistic expectations. The ride in wasn't nearly as bad as described - the roads were on par with a lot of the roads we experienced on our ride into Nosara earlier in the week.. still would recommend 4x4 though just in case. The hotel...

The people were very nice, the accommodations were perfectly good as well, if you like hard beds, this is your place. Really enjoyed the horse back ride to the falls and zip line, very fun. The massages were just mediocre, but did the basic job, the location over the river was quite nice. The food was OK, but you are...

Our family loved Borinquen. It is remote and rustic. If you want the Four Seasons, this isn't it. But the separate villas are great and clean. The amount of hiking on the grounds alone is awesome. We did the horses and canopy tour (which we were told by others is the best in the area). The restaurant food was a...
