My husband and I have been to the J. Patrick house a few times. However, this last visit was a nice surprise. The home is under new ownership and the entire place has been redone. The decor is rustic but not cheesy and the old "grandma" look has been removed. Yay! The bathrooms are all updated/modern but the rooms still...

We stayed one night mid-week in early October on a short trip up the coast from LA to SanFran. We picked it for it's closeness to the Hearst Castle and based on TripAdvisor's reviews. We arrived just in time for happy hour with a great selection of wine and appetizers. We thoroughly enjoyed this time with the owners and their...

We went on a trip driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco for Thanksgiving. A perfect half-way point. It was charming, hospitable and extremely well run. The rooms were clean & well kept. The happy hour was fun and engaging. The breakfast was terrific. And to top it all, the innkeeper (Linda) was the best, friendly and inviting. We'll be...

East Coasters driving up the west coast and visiting Hearst Castle for 2 days. Linda and Ron could not have made our stay more enjoyable!!! Rooms are spacious and lovely, bountiful and delicious gourmet breakfast, fresh baked cookies/milk at night and so much fun at "happy hour" with great wine and appetizers that lasted way longer than an hour!!! They...

During our recent trek down Highway One, we chose not to stay on motel row at Moonstone Beach, but opted instead for a B&B closer to downtown and we are so glad we did! My husband prefers contemporary, Dwell-type design, but he actually commented how the decor and colors at the Inn were so well done: calm and earthy. The...

Wonderful warm clean inn with friendly hosts that make you so very welcome. The happy hour reception has wonderful wine and appetizers. Then recommendations for dinner. After dinner out you come back to warm cookies and milk!!! And the breakfast is farm fresh and delicious. This was my second stay and is my favorite place to stay in the central...

We were driving the PCH for a birthday and stopped in Cambria for one night before visiting Hearst Castle. So glad we did, we had such a lovely stay! Our room was cosy (just like it looked on the website), the wine hour was so much fun and breakfast was AMAZING. We were already talking about coming back as we...

We celebrated my husband's birthday here. This B&B is quaint. Our room had a cozy fireplace. The homemade breakfast and the cookies in the evening made it feel like Home. This is not like staying in a hotel where there is room after room. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, I strongly suggest a stay at the J....

This place is under new management so do not let the bad feedbacks from before 2014 confuse you..... This B&B is the best place I had during my 2 weeks travelling around California (and I also stayed at a Hyatt) Seldom you still find places so cozy, warm and run with so much passion, love and attention to detail. I...

When we arrived happy hour had just started and we felt like we were visiting friends, not strangers. Wine was graciously offered with delicious appetizers. Linda and a friend who has helping host in Ron's absence made us feel so welcome. Great care and concern was given to my gluten free request throughout our stay. Since we'd driven quite far...
