We really enjoyed our stay here, the friendly front desk staff helped us out. The room was really clean, especially the bathroom, and the bed was newer and very comfortable! We walked over to a nice seafood restaurant, easy walk along the shoreline. Complimentary breakfast was good.
We are locals but needed a place to stay while our apartment was being fixed. We were very pleased with our stay, so much so that after some travels we booked another week in this same hotel. Everything worked so well — excellent coffee and hot chocolate (and some breakfast items) to start off your day, comfortable chair & desk to complete your daily work, fridge & microwave to keep the hunger away. Bathtub & beds were great, parking was easy and free, nice waterfront trail was just across the street for us to stroll on our lunch break. We can’t think of anything we didn’t like. After a long day of traveling and arriving late into SFO airport, the last thing you want to deal with is the complications with transportation to a hotel. Little did I know the Hampton Inn does not have shuttle service from the airport due to COVID restrictions, although all other hotels are running their shuttle. I wouldn’t have booked this place is I had known. We checked Über and Lyft, and both services were $80-$90 for the quick two mile jaunt to the hotel, and there were no taxis available at the time with about 50 people in line. Frustrated, I called the front desk again, and the employee was actually very friendly and kind and provided some options. I can’t fault him for something he can’t control so I actually gave this review and extra star because he handled the situations very well. I did ultimately chat with him when I checked in and thanked him in person. The room itself was a bit dated, and you can hear the street and airport noise with the windows shut, so we didn’t sleep very well. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was decent and I appreciate all the new protocols they are adhering too. But the lack of shuttle service for a hotel located close to the airport is unreasonable and can easily be fixed if management really cares about customer service. We won’t be staying here ever again. …
There was only one person working. There was no housekeeping either. There was no drinking water in the room and when I called to ask, I was told to come down and get it myself at the lobby. The elevator was also too slow. I was already tired and just wanted to rest.
Nicely located. Good quality (spacious and clean) rooms and good service from staff. Area is safe and you can make a nice walk outside, following a trail along the Bay. I had the junior suite which is a large room, with an excellent bed, place to work (desk) and sofa area. This is one of the better hotels around the SFOairport.
