We are leaving here tomorrow. Hotel is nice however we checked in early on Friday. Asked for service to clean the room on Saturday since they told us that we had to request 24 hours before. Saturday we left our room 10:00am to go to breakfast. Came back at 3:00pm room was not cleaned. I asked front desk to have someone clean the rooms. She said no problem she is calling housekeeping to clean immediately. My son and I sat in the lobby until 5:00pm. Two hours. We came up to room, still not cleaned. Left went to dinner and got back in the room at 6:30pm. Still not cleaned. At this point just wanted a shower. I called down for clean towels. Said someone will be right up. One hours later still waiting. Called down again, towels came 1/2 hour later. This is our third Marriott stay since June. We are checking out tomorrow. Have one more Marriott stay that was already booked. I know their is a staff shortage but if Marriott cannot give the service then they would reflect it in the price. I am a premium member and will be changing my hotel brand.

Hotel's Favourite
Checked in on a busy Friday night when rates were eye popping at $375. That was cheap compared to the $1000 per night rates that forced us to stay elsewhere the following night. Their front desk computers were down so they offered me a $10 credit in the hotel bar. The martini was excellent but at $16 the credit didn’t go very far. I’m Titanium Elite but still rarely score a suite upgrade unless I’m using a certificate. To my surprise they upgraded me to an accessible suite with a large private patio. The door to the room was behind an ice machine that fortunately did not cause any issues for me. I appreciated the thick blackout curtains that also minimized sound from the 101. Enjoyed a complimentary breakfast entree the next day. Great service in the restaurant. The Tesla superchargers in the parking lot are a definite perk of this property. 4 PM checkout was honored without the usual impatient knocking by housekeeping that starts at the standard checkout time at other Marriott family properties. However they did call the room around 2:45 to make sure we were still in the room.

Stopped off here on our way to Northern California. The hotel room was OK--clean. But our stay was a horrible experience. Couldn't get to sleep (after nine pm) because somebody was drilling nearby. I called the front desk to complain and they told me that it might the ice machine and I assured them that it was not. They said they would investigate. An hour went by and still the drilling continued. I called the front desk again. This time they said that a maintenance was being done but they had talked to the guy asked him to stop. But the drilling continued even after 11 pm. So didn't get a good night sleep--which was our whole purpose for staying there.

Due to how super pricey all the hotels in San Ynez are on the weekends I tried the $ 373 rate which seems high for what you get. That said, most hotels in San Ynez under $500 a night are generally not great. This hotel does not seem like the Marriott standard I have experienced in other cities. It is a bit dated with older paint, the bed felt like it was stuffed with cotton balls with a sheet vs. a nice sturdy bed. You will want to ask for an extra comforter, just a sheet like covering is provided. Heater / AC is a rickety system that is noisy and takes time to get to correct temp then shut off. The bathroom was ok and clean with weird inconsistent water heating. It is the type of hotel you want to get in late and very tired, sleep and jet out at first light. It is a step up from a Hotel 6. They do have a good coffee shop and bar in the lobby but it is crowded and loud. They provided a nice free high quality coffee which was nice. Barely doable.

I'd stay here again, but it certainly wasn't worth the cost. It's overpriced for the basic value hotel. The location is convenient, but the place could really use an update and face lift. However, I'd have given this a 4 (as opposed to 3) if it wasn't for the restaurant. Our experience at the hotel had the worst service, poor food, and even delivered the wrong bill. Without a decent restaurant on-site, this hotel isn't more than "average."

We stayed here while traveling thru California. As Platinum members, we have stayed at almost 40 properties this year and this was a huge disappointment and one of the worst. We used one of our free suite nights and we were directly over the parking lot entrance. We walked in to a huge bodily fluid stain right in the middle of the bed. I took a picture, went back down to front desk and he assured me that someone would be right up with replacement bedding. Two hours later, because we were ready to go to bed and still had not received the bedding, we tried to send a chat, but had no response. My husband then went back to the front desk and finally we were handed a new duvet cover to replace ourselves…yuck. Next morning, we had to request our breakfast to be boxed up because the server didn’t take our order for 25 minutes after we sat down and we didn’t have time to eat it when the food finally came. I requested a discount at front desk upon checking out and was told that because I booked with a third party that she could not give a discount…I booked directly with Marriott app and pulled it up to show her. She then said, they didn’t even have my Marriott number, again, showed her on my app. I requested to talk to a manager and was told that they were in a meeting. I requested a phone call later that day. It has been a month, no phone call and full price was charged to my credit card. Do yourself a favor and just don’t stay at this hotel. Marriott has standards and they definitely missed the mark on this one.

I checked in and the one and only request in my profile is "high floor", when I was handed my key, I asked where my room was in relation to the elevator, I like a quiet room and didn't want to spend a sleepless night hearing people getting on and off the elevator. The desk clerk told me "You don't have to worry, you don't have to take an elevator, you are on the ground floor". Why do I have an elite profile? I get to the room and the first thing I notice is that there is a strange creaky noise. It was just weird, even before getting into the room, I had to look what it was only to discover that there was an "Employees Only" door that was very noisy as it closed. I entered the room and turned on the light and it starts flashing like there is a fire drill going on. A creaky "employees only" door, flashing light, not off to a good start after explaining to the Front Desk clerk that I wanted a quite room. I get into the room and open the curtains only to realize that I am just above the hot tub and pool which is over the freeway. So much for quiet room on a high floor. Why do I have a Marriott profile if it isn't going to be looked at? I start to unpack and open the refrigerator, clearly someone had some sort of food that smelled horrible. Clearly, the housekeeper did not check the lights nor did she clean the refrigerator. I threw my bottled water into it only to come back a few hours later to find that the water was completely frozen. Judging from the less than a dozen cars in the parking lot, I wondered, why was I put in probably one of the worst rooms when I had gold status and requested a high floor? Then I find myself wondering why I even ask these questions, I don't think there is a Marriott that pays attention to the room requests or the information that is in the profile. Later that night, when I turned off the TV to go to sleep there was an unmistakably loud Darth Vader breathing sound. Had I checked into Disney's Galactic adventure? Was I hearing things? It was LOUD and for a few moments, I had to laugh, where was this coming from? The humor lasted for a few minutes and then it turned into annoyance. It was coming from the refrigerator. Do I really need to choose between sleep and cold water? The morning I was to check out, I sent a text to the desk telling them they needed to check the room for a couple things including the refrigerator and flashing light. I left and noticed that I kept getting texts about how all agents are busy. Why offer this service through Bonvoy if it isn't going to be monitored? A few hours later, there was a response. "Sorry for the inconvenience!" Whoever responded should not be in a customer facing position. So, unless you want to spend extra and get less while trying to maintain your Marriott Elite status, you might want to reconsider your options.

We just came from a wonderful impromptu weekend and had a great time! This hotel is very nice, modern, clean, and the location is perfect. It's 5 miles from Solvang and tons of restaurants and wineries. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. There was a sticky spot on the floor in the entryway where it looked like someone spilled something. I called housekeeping and they came right up and cleaned it up. I asked for extra blankets and they sent up 2 thin hotel blankets so I called and asked for a comforter and they brought that right up too!! Yes, I'm very picky about blankets. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. They're even pet friendly too!!!

I don't typically write reviews, but this experience warrants it. Just got here after a 5+ hour drive. The whole family is tired. I entered the lobby, and there's nobody at the reception desk! I waited. And waited. For about 15-20 minutes. There's no bell. No way to signal that a guest is there. It's empty. I hear people talking in the office behind the reception desk. I call out to them. No response. I walk through the desks and find 3 people in the back talking. I'm pretty sure they know we are here, but just ignored us. Really? This is unacceptable from a Marriott. Feel free to reach out. I'll leave the same review with corporate. Check out the pictures.

Even asked in chat beforehand, absolutely no upgrade as titanium elite. No alternative upgrade as other hotels offer when they are unable to get you any upgrade. Lounge closed, no buffet breakfast. We could choose 1 b/f item which was ok as these were huge portions but the worst was the beverage option, we had to choose either coffee OR juice not both ! for me a no go how to treat elite members. Won't return eventhough room was ok.
