Swimming pool very crowded and jacuzzi was a greenish yellow hue. Garbage cans were overflowing. Room bathroom needed a good scrubbing and drains were lined with yellow gunk. Patio had cigarette butts. Overall, I would not recommend or return.

On the return from our first road trip in our Chevrolet Bolt (Irvine CA to Monterey CA) we planned to stay at the Marriott in Buellton for two reasons: They had two EV DT Fast Chargers for our Bolt, and they were just down the road from the wonderful brewery we were anxious to re-visit. Unfortunately, by the time we made it, the brewery was closed for supper, so we thought we'd have early lunch there the next day after charging our car. The price for the Marriott was higher than we normally pay, but they didn't charge extra for parking and hey, they had chargers! Indeed, outside the area where our room was, there must have been 10-15 Tesla chargers! The hotel is huge and spread out, and I was told "our" chargers were around the other side. No offer of help getting our luggage in, not even a cart to be had. So I trudged back and forth, bringing in the stuff that extreme old age requires (my husband is 92). Luckily we had leftover food from lunch, since the room had no information on how to get food anywhere in the area, and no advice was offered. I worried how I would get back to the room after hooking up the car. Next morning, more bad news. The brewery was closed that day! A tiny package of 2 fig bars in the hotel lobby cost $2.00. One charger was broken, and I wasted a half hour on line. But fortunately, the second one finally was able to start and even though I had to get a late checkout and know we would get home late, I thought our luck had turned. Then I got the bill! Not only the most expensive charge in my experience, almost twice as much as the "pricey" charger at a BMW dealer, but they added $11.00 to park at the charger! So, well over $200, no food, no service, and 5 trips back and forth to my car to get on the road again. On top of that, lots of ADA non-compliance. The only plus as far as the room was concerned: Yes, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was very nice -- almost a roll-in shower with a very low threshold, and both an up-top fixture and a hand=held fixture. By adding a bench, it would have almost qualified as disabled access. There was only one bath towel and one hand towel. The person at the desk was very nice, and when I called to complain, the person on the phone was pleasant and said they had nothing to do with charging to park, but although she said she would tell the manager, they didn't offer to rebate me anything, or to even make a formal complaint to Charge Point. She just said it wasn't their responsibility. When I inquired about charging, they certainly didn't warn me of the cost to park at the charger. She did apologize for the lack of service and said they were trying but couldn't find anyone to hire. I suggested they might at least purchase some carts so people could take care of their own luggage. I think that until this hotel can get its staffing taken care of, and have food available, along with a few amenities like at least a newspaper, some coffee and maybe a bowl of fruit, they should lower their prices. I also think they need to make sure that guests are not being charged parking fees at the EV chargers that are definitely part of the hotel parking lot. It just is a bad "look" for the hotel.

Stayed here one night on a recent road and we found the hotel to be very good. Our room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable, The hotel is close to Solvang and is just off the 101 highway. All and all a very good stay at this Marriott in Buellton.

I am a platinum Marriott member and therefore have stayed in many, many Marriott hotels over the years - this was definitely a lower level experience, especially given the steep $200+ a night rate. TL;DR - absolutely not worth the money for a stay in the area, even if you have status. Outdated and honestly a bit dirty (not even taking COVID standards into account). If you can, spend a little more and stay in Los Olivos, Solvang, or Santa Ynez. Detailed summary: - Dirty rooms. Upon arrival, I found stained sheets with what was either wine or blood at some point. The windows and mirrors had smudges and there were other questionable stains on the walls (see pics). After COVID, this was a huge red flag. I immediately called and we were switched into another room which was a little better, but still questionable (marks on the mirrors, shower doors, peeling paint, etc) and did not provide a very appealing view (freeway) despite being a "top room." - Outdated & broken. Aside from a few housekeeping issues (our lamp was visibly broken and askew), the rooms and hallways are very dated. Peeling wall paper, water stains, and scuffed walls/doors. Also not sure if this is a vibe, but the decor is very 70s (in fact, there is a corner of the room with floor-to-ceiling wood paneling with a giant etched horse and a built-in wool couch - see pic). Not necessarily the modern look you'd want/expect from a Marriott charging $200+ night. - Nice staff, but many mistakes. The staff is really doing their best. They were very accommodating and friendly, clearly doing the best with what they have to work with; however, there were many issues. I was charged the wrong room rate, wifi would not connect, charged for drinks when they were supposed to be comped, etc. Not huge issues but again frustrating given the rest of the problems noted above.

Stayed here one night while traveling north . Easy access location off the highway . Short drive to Solvang and other attractions . Helpful staff and nice rooms . Lobby bar and cafe was better than expected . Try the pizza cooked in a dome oven. Considering COVID , this was a comfortable place to spend the night .
