When you think of a getaway to the Santa Ynez Valley, the Danish art of being cozy probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. But at Hotel Hygge, we think that maybe it should be. See, hygge isn’t just about warm socks and steaming mugs of tea—it’s about kicking back and enjoying the simple things in life. It’s feeling the wind on your face as you bike through rolling, vineyard-lined hills. It’s enjoying the mellow hops and the soft fizz of a West Coast IPA. It’s getting lost in a late-night conversation around an outdoor firepit. At Hotel Hygge, every single amenity and every last room is designed to indulge your senses. From ultra-soft throw blankets and rich, scented bath products to a comfortable, succulent-studded courtyard and a perfectly pebbly bocce ball court, here, you’ll find that simple pleasures make a Santa Ynez Valley getaway even more enjoyable.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were on the way home to Orange County from a Model A tour of Monterey and Carmel with a group of friends and thought we would extend our trip an extra night and stay in Buellton and have some pea soup. We got the last accommodation for the night at Sleepy Hollow. Nicest, kindest people you ever want to meet, great price for the room! The mattress, now THAT is another story! It had to be as old, if not older, than our cars and it was horrible! I think the real dinosaurs slept on it! It was hard as a rock and crunchy! We would have been better off sleeping in the parkway in the rain that night.
