We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the quiet, comfortable room, helpful people, small town ambiance. It is not far from either the PCT trailhead or the east entranc to Yosemite We highly recommend this location!

The staff here are lovely, helpful and efficient. However the rooms are very dated and ours had a rather odd smell, it was in the corner and was extremely dark, our friends next door had a lovely bright room so we were just unlucky. However the rooms have plenty of towels, two luggage stands and lots of toiletries and were nice and clean. Parking is easy and the town is so quiet it felt very safe. Unfortunately although our confirmation said breakfast included we were told when we arrived that they stopped doing that 2 years ago. We knew that getting breakfast would be a pain in such a tiny place and so this was a big disappointment to us and caused an increase in our costs which we hadn’t expected. The bakery over the road doesn’t open on Wednesdays so we ended up buying cereal pots at the general store and begging some spoons from reception! We had a problem with the toilet in our room but they were incredibly responsive and sorted it really quickly. Be aware that if you arrive late there is no where to eat, store and burger place close at 6, ice cream and burger place close at 5! This is a reasonable place to stay and the staff definitely go the extra mile!

We were travelling through Bridgeport and fortunately, made the choice to stay at Ruby Inn. The staff is wonderful and the room was very clean and comfortable. The coffee grinder/whole beans were a real treat. Very happy with everything the room had to offer and the wifi worked well. True value for the price and we would definitely stay here again. The staff could not be more welcoming or helpful!

I've been staying here at least a couple of times a year off and on since 1999. Much has changed in the world since then. But, where the Ruby Inn has changed in that time, it's always been for the better. My stay here in 2021 was for the renewed Friends of Bodie Day (Second Saturday in August), which is probably the bst party in the county. Every aspect of this stay was excellent. The spa/hot tub was re-opened as allowed by California law. The upshot here is that everything here works. Which is a rarity in this day and age. In fact, the quaslity of my stay here made my next stop (A Hilton Garden Inn) a serious disappointment. The heat works. The A/C works. The hot water works. The spa/hot tub works. There's even a fly-swatter in a drawer, if you need it. The location is in the heart of "Beautiful Downtown Bridgeport" (RIP, Gary Owens of KMPC) and is a convenient walk to reasaurants and shopping. Note that if you arrive after the stores and restaurants have closed, the Ruby Inn has a limited selection of snacks and simple to prepare meals available for purchase at the front desk to keep you from going hungry. Also, the fridge here is larger than what I've found at some "fancier" hotels. The WiFi quality is much better than that found at many hotels. Summary: This is quality and hospitality which used to be the norm in American travel. Both are alive and well at the Ruby Inn. I temper my strong recommend with the admonition that after you stay here, you will likely never be satisfied elsewhere again. It's not just the well-designed and well-kept facility. It's the people here who will amaze you. There are many hotels that are well-designed and well-maintained. But, pitifully few with the people of the caliber that will welcome you to the Ruby Inn.

Not great. Not bad. Just the basics in the almost middle of nowhere. Not sure how this hotel is rated 3* by Trip Advisor. The rate seemed high for what it was, but the middle of nowhere can do that. The TVs were mounted too high to watch comfortably. There is a fenced area for pets to have a romp, but its in the same yard as the fish cleaning sink. Keep on eye on your pups near it for they might go for a roll. No restaurants were open, so if you're planning to spend the night, plan ahead. It was a $7 gas station (closes at 8pm) Lunchable for dinner for me that night.

This is the first place I've stayed at that had coffee makers in the room that included a coffee grinder and whole beans! Talk about fresh, delicious coffee! Then, the bathroom towels and tissue were decoratively done up with care. I've traveled all over the world and I've only seen that at 4 star resorts. I complimented the manager and he said, it doesn't take much to take care of his guests, that he treats them as family! And 1st place ever that had 2 stand up luggage racks. Most motels don't even give you one. The room was clean and comfortable. If ever we pass thru this way again, we would definitely stay here!

The staff there are so nice, they brewed coffee and hot cocoa for breakfast and the rooms were so cute. I had previously been stuck in a snowed in cabin. And when trying to leave Tahoe my family and I came here. The beds were way softer and the tv has a lot of channels to choose from. (Plus a very nice warm heater) We got there about maybe 1 or 2 in the morning. So it was all very convenient. Since we were lost. I especially loved the friendly woman behind the desk. She was very sweet!!

A simple Inn; clean, quiet, comfy. Has amenities like a little table and chairs, fridge, coffee in room. Nice TV with Netflix. Good service, friendly and helpful managers. Stayed on the way to somewhere and chose it for 2 nights on the way back. Lots to see in the area. We even walked to the hot spring.

Yes, I traveled during the COVID Crisis of 2020. Not unexpectedly, the Ruby Inn was one of the highpoints of the places I stayed. Yes, there were the legally-required plastic curtain barricades at the front desk. No, by government order there was no longer an included breakfast. No, the spa was closed. by government order. But, the room was clean and quiet. The sleep quality was excellent, as usual. And, the door entry system had been replaced since my last stay. Much nicer than before. This is one of the rare motels that caters to fishers. Especially those "on wheels" The Ruby Inn has information which these folks might find interesting. Please see the attached photos. This hotel is run by folks who are proud of the natural beauty of this area and are doing their best to make sure more people can get maximum enjoyment from their visit to it. Suggestion: If you want to get the best rate, contact them direct via e-mail or direct phone. (Not a toll-free number!) Remember if you call they are UTC-8 (UTC-7 in U.S. Summer Time) Summary: I've been staying here quite a few years in my travels. Once, not long after 9/11. On this trip -as then- the staff and management of The Ruby Inn can be trusted (a word I do not use frivolously) to provide the best possible experience even in the worst pf times. Summary: Strongest possible recommend!

Very few changes from my visit in 2018. And, no negative ones! The first change is that coffee seemed to available after breakfast. The second change is that I saw promotional material in the lobby for a vendor selling supplies for attaching a fishing rod to a wheelchair. Otherwise, this place is highly recommended. Clean, quiet, and you get your moneysworth. One suggestion, contact them directly instead of using a booking service. You'll get a better deal.
