If you're looking for a place to stay during fishing season, I'd really recommend this place. It's basic, no frills, and it really is suited for outdoorsmen. There's a fish cleaning station somewhere on the property. The bed was good, the bathroom coffinlike, and the tiny fridge/microwave area okay. The minifridge was cold enough to freeze yogurt. You must either... More

We stayed in one of the small cabins, which was clean with a decent bed, hot water and a coffee machine with fresh coffee, for the one night we stayed there on route to Bodie. It seems to cater well for fishing trips. The view of the mountains is lovely too.

We only stayed one night in this lodge on the way to Yosemite but absolutely loved it. The rooms were large, clean and welcoming. You get a little fire pit outside if you want or can do what we did and sit outside to watch the stars (managed to see a shooting star!) There is a road nearby but the... More

I wrote a nice long review on Yelp, so I'll keep this a little shorter. My family and I stayed here for three nights during our fishing trip and it was great. Our beds were very comfortable and the highway noise wasn't bad at all..it was kind of fun to sit outside of our cabin (7) and watch the trucks... More

Great experience, staying in a cabin in these surroundings. Waking up, practically in the middle of nowhere, seeing those snowy mountains. We loved it! It's easy to find, and the cabins are larger than they seem on the outside. The interior is basic, but sufficient. Room was clean too. Happy to find the extra blanket and heaters, because if it... I was a bit leery when we drove up to to this lodge and checked in but I had reservations and we were very tired. When we went into the cabin my first thought was how small it was. Then I saw all the knotty pine on the walls and ceiling which was truly amazing and gave it a warm... More

In other locations, this would seem fairly overpriced, but for Bridgeport where everything seems to cost more than it should, this is not bad. We had a small cabin without an inch to spare to move around in, but perhaps the most comfortable bed of any hotel or timeshare we've ever been to anywhere. It was amusing that there was... More

Big Meadow Lodge had rates about 25% less than that of other hotels along 395. We saw the mixed reviews both on here and Trivago, so we were a bit hesitant. Only one room was left, so we decided to go for it. We were pleasantly surprised. This isn't luxury and the rooms are tiny, but the room was clean,... More

Pros. Very clean, nice looking, comfortable beds, close to hot springs. Cons. Extreme noise from CA395, fan that suppose to cool the room (no air-conditioning) is on timer so every time you come back it is very hot and it take very long time to cool it, very small room (beds and 1 ft around them), unstaffed in the evening....
