I consider the Beverly Hilton to be one of the best hotels in the country because of the wonderful people who work there. General Manager Sandy Murphy is a super star with customer service and leading the amazing staff. Everyone in the hotel truly cares about you as a customer and person….from the bell and valet staff, front desk, pool staff, restaurant staff and big shout out to the amazing people working in the Lobby Bar! So great to have the lobby bar back and better than ever. I had the best drinks, service and food (burger!) at the Lobby Bar. Jonathan and especially helpful late one night. I also want to thank the Director of Rooms, Casey Curtis, who always makes sure I get the perfect room. The Beverly Hilton continues to be a destination in Los Angeles!

Hotel's Favourite
When most people think of going to Los Angeles for vacation, they think of hotels near Disneyland, Universal Studios, or along the beaches. While those hotels cater to a certain traveler, the Beverly Hilton was perfect for our family of four, which included two older teenagers. We booked two separate rooms, and while we were not able to get adjoining, they were close to each other on the same floor. The hotel itself is centrally located to many good day trips: walking distance to Rodeo Drive and other surrounding shops and restaurants; 15-20 minute drive to Santa Monica and Venice Beach; 15 minutes to the shops on Melrose and La Brea; 20 minute drive to K-Town, 30 minutes to Manhattan Beach; and so on and so on. We never hit too much of the famed L.A. traffic, although we had the luxury of driving during non-rush hour times. If you don't know much about the hotel, it is one of L.A.'s most storied hotels. Just about every major old Hollywood actor and actress has stepped through its doors, and most of new Hollywood as well as the Golden Globes are held in the International room, accessible close to the parking lot entrance, although usually locked. The pool was spacious and rarely crowded, with music from Sinatra's era flowing through the outdoor speakers. Our rooms were 220 and 225 and were one of the newly renovated ones. 220 has one king size bed and a balcony, while 225 has two full-size beds and a balcony. Neither has much of a view; they both overlooked the overhang of the pool. I would recommend either several floors higher (eight floors total), or at least in the higher range past 225. The rooms were modern, clean, and cozy, each with a large flat screen TV. The balconies were spacious and we enjoyed coffee and the occasional snack out there. One of our favorite aspects of the rooms and hotel in general is that it was quiet: the a/c units went on and off providing a pleasant white noise, and there were no slamming of doors and guests chatting loudly in the hallways. Self-parking was easy with in-and-out privileges, at $50 per day. Reasonable considering New York prices are $70 and up. Restaurant food was a little pricey as expected, but decent and convenient. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Highly recommend for the property and friendliness of the staff. Thanks for helping make this vacation one of the most enjoyable my family has had.

We have been well advised at checkin and upgraded to Cabana room. I was unhappy with the change of rooms so receptionist lady made an very appreciated gesture concerning parking. Cabana rooms are Sinking and dirty, air conditioning loud and old. But this area (cabanas and swimming pool) is the only place with a minimum charm. So I would suggest. The biggest problem of hotel is the very long service. Not the fault of servers. They’re nice and doing their best. Probably the kitchen has little capacity compare to crowd. So we waited too long for each breakfast and dinner. Finally at check out we discovered that with Hilton when you book and pay a room BREAKFAST INCLUDED, actually it is not exactly what it’s meant. But coucher says BREAKFAST INCLUDED, no limitation or disclaimer even written in small typos. No. BREAKFAST INCLUDED. But at check out I wasted 15 minutes and gave up arguing with a young and unexperienced lady. I check out without settling. We’ll see. It’s peanuts compare to what we paid. But I don’t like to be cheated even for a penny.

Stay Report - 7/17 to 7/20 Location: Worked very well for my purposes.  I was with my family seeing the All Star Game at Dodger Stadium and I went down to San Pedro one day.  It's an easy drive to LAX with no traffic and its proximity to the 405 and the 10 make getting around fairly easy as long as you don't hit traffic.  Nearby are a bunch of restaurants and bars as well as other high end hotels (The Peninsula, the Waldorf Astoria) so you can find plenty to do around. Hotel: I was much more impressed with the hotel and grounds than I expected to be.  While the hotel is old its actually very pleasant to be in.  The lobby is well lit, there's a lovely bar at the pool level along with the pool itself being a nice area to spend time in and the pool side restaurant is great.  The hallways are pleasant too and there were no waits for elevators.  Room: We had two kings and one with two queens. The two king rooms were much nicer with a separate sofa.  The two queen room I was in was definitely tight on space and had nowhere to sit and work besides a small table with a single chair.  Also several of the outlets including the ones near the bed were broken.  Surprisingly the room has a mini bar but no coffee maker.  There was a nice little balcony though.  Dining: Service at breakfast was great and they have a decent menu.  The Diamond credit covers the Continental at least.  Service: One massively negative note.  I wanted my coat dry cleaned.  I called Monday night and was told it would be picked up: no one came.  I sent it out Tuesday morning and then it wasn't returned as promised.  I had to call down after getting back from the game and someone had to track it down for me.  As this is a paid service I was left pretty annoyed. Minus the issue with the coat the stay overall was very good.  I'd be back.

We were really happy with this hotel all around. The food, the drinks, the staff, the cleanliness and the hotel was really well-kept. I highly recommend upgrading your room for a more luxurious stay. We booked the 500 sq ft room with a few and did not regret it.
