Set in a lovely location of the lake. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had the tofu katsu curry. The tofu was very bland and the dish had random veggies on top. The dish was lacking in seasoning. Great for a quick lunch.

Sian P Thank you for your review, we are sorry you weren't satisfied with your tofu. Tofu doesn't have a great deal of flavour as a single component but when pane with soya milk and fresh breadcrumbs then placed on top of the Katsu sauce, this is where the taste comes in to play. we do provide salt and pepper at the tables as everyone has a different opinion on what is seasoned and over seasoned. Again let me apologies that you weren't completely happy. Wishing you well, safe travels Kind regards Gary and the team

My husband and I were very lucky to get a last minute cancellation for a wonderful balcony room on the second floor. We were very impressed with the whole ambiance. The hotel staff throughout the hotel were exceptional. During these restrictions everywhere felt very safe. Breakfast was lovely. The evening menu was limited but the food very good....however, we would have liked to have had fish and chips included. The lounge areas are extensive and very comfortable. A beautiful hotel, we will be back. Thank you.

On the south end of the lake in the village of Glenridding sits The Inn on the lake which has a prime lakeside position with glorious views. Covid restrictions were in force and applied but did not hinder our stay in anyway, just the opposite ,it gave us a degree of comfort. All staff that we encountered were extremely helpful and competant in their various duties. Our room was a little dated but the lovely views made up for this. Food whether it be breakfast, dinner or in the Ramblers bar & restaurant were all good. Why you may ask have I only given 4 stars to this wonderful hotel. They allow dogs (nothing wrong with that), by the lakeside to the left of the jetty, there is a huge area full of dog poo, there is lot's of it, some fresh some old, some of it has been there a long time. It is the dog owners responsibility to remove, in some cases this is not being observed. Clearly the hotel has a role to play to ensure certain rules are in place & enforced , this is not happening. We hope on our next visit the situation is much improved as this is a very special hotel.

Dear Avidtraveler Thank you for your lovely review, we are delighted you found the hotel, grounds, and service to a high standard. These are exceedingly difficult times for the hotel industry right now and covid regulations are still in place, so it gives extra satisfaction to read such lovely comments. With regards to the poo, this is actually Canadian geese poo, there’s a flock of over a 100 at the moment, I can’t ask anyone to pick this up, but the Gardner does move it with his ride on mower, it would be impossible for us to do this 24/7 but it is done every second day, this as you say is to the left of the main gardens on the golf course which is not in use at the moment. The Geese migrate every year and they use the hotel as a stop off point. Thank you again for your lovely comments and we look forward to welcoming you back at some point. Kind regards Gary and the team

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Glenridding and it was accompanied by the opportunity to enjoy a delightful lunch in perfect surroundings by the lake1 Food selection was somewhat restricted fully understandable so as we were just two weeks out of lockdown. Regardless of this the food quality was perfect served by very attentive staff. Enjoy
