A lovely traditional Lake District style house in a village location. There will be pleasant views across the beck when the upgrading of the flood defences is finished (the ongoing work did not spoil my stay there at all and is badly needed). Recently renovated with a light and airy contemporary feel. Handy parking a short stroll up the lane.... More

Our hosts were so friendly, we really felt at home. Mosscrag is a beautiful old building with modern upgrades where they are appreciated. This B&B is centrally located and the breakfast was very good.

Booked 3 rooms for a friends wedding (12 months in advance) over the bank holiday. Re-confirmed on a couple of occasions due to the flooding over the winter. Arrived and only allocated 1 room - at the same time somebody else arrived for 2 rooms and they too were only allocated 1 room. Only by luck the weather wasn't the... More

I proposed to my (at the time) girlfriend, my now Fiancé. I had planned a slightly elaborate weekend, including having the room decorated with various engagment paraphernalia all to be set up at a specific time, which they had set up perfectly and completely surprised my Fiancé on our return after proposing. The location is breath taking lots of walks... More

Mosscrag is in the centre of Glenridding so you couldn't ask for a more convenient location. The owners are very friendly, full of useful advice and very accommodating. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. What more do you need from a B&B? I will definitely stay at Mosscrag next time I am in... More

We went in early November just when the first bad storm struck but it say`s something for the location and welcome when we are determined to return as soon as it is up and running again. We had the front bedroom overlooking the beck which was a little "angry" even then at the outset of the storms and i found... More

We stayed for one night at this guest house as we were attending a wedding at the Inn on the Lake, just up the road, Mosscrag is situated by a babbling brook in the heart of Glenridding. The little lane where the house is situated is quite narrow and parking could have been a problem but we were allowed to... More

Only stayed one night as a present from our son. We really enjoyed our stay in spite of the rain; the lakes are beautiful in all weathers. The room was cosy, warm and clean but we found the duvet was a bit lumpy. We had a view at the back of the guesthouse but didn't mind in the least as... More

Mosscrag is located in the middle of the village of Glenridding at the Western end of Ullswater. The guest house is located near the two main hotels in the village - the Best Western and the Inn on the Lake both of which have bars selling real ale and food. Although there is no obvious parking outside Mosscrag there is... More
