A terrific find! The warmest welcome and attentive service. Nothing was too much trouble to Sonja and Miguel, the hosts. Room was lovely, cleaned to perfection, comfortable. Nice spa to soothe your bones after a day hiking. Good breakfasts with good company of other happy guests! Mark H

We stuck a pin in the map and won the lottery with this delightful traditional hotel. It's located right across the road from the lava rock pools on the sea front at Tenerife's oldest port, some of which remains from the Middle Ages. The small town is charming with plenty of good and reasonably priced local restaurant choices. Behind is...

The hotel is an excellent choice for a small friendly hotel away from the main tourist hotspots. The hosts are friendly and always available for guests. Breakfast was cereals, tea, coffee, selection of cold meats etc all on a self service basis in a courtyard setting. One downside was that you may have to wait for a table although this...

If you like quality local inns as opposed to glitzy hotels this could be right up your street. Garachico is a charming small town on the quieter and decidedly scenic north west coast. It has a lot to see, including the historic and architecturally interesting, and is a place to mooch around and explore, taking in the surrounding views. Good...

The Gara hotel is perfectly located, right on the coastal road in the lovely little coastal town of Garachico. Nowhere could be more different from the vast apartment blocks of the South-This is the REALTenerife. The hotel has been very well -designed with rooms on 2 floors set around a leafy, pretty courtyard with 2 wonderful sun terraces above, which overlook...

Excellent hotel, excellent hosts, excellent holiday...Is there a theme here? We'd never stayed on the Northern coast of Tenerife before, so our January break seemed a bit of a gamble, but our concerns were swept away within minutes of arriving in Garachico...a beautiful town, with people to match. The hotel with its splendid coastal outlook over the rock pools. its...

We stayed here for 5 nights in December 2012 for our honeymoon. We were greeted by Sonia and Miguel who were very helpful and friendly and congratulated us straight away. The hotel was so quaint and peaceful and the room was lovely, spacious with lots of light and not noisey at all. The terrace overlooks the main road and the...

The owners of Gara hotel Sonia and Miguel are just lovely! They extend a very warm welcome to all of their guests and we really felt very welcome. This is a lovely small hotel/hotel rural which offers a very comfortable place to stay in the lovely Garachico. With only 16 (?) rooms, it's quite a small place but is extremely...

The best thing about this hotel is the owners, Sonia and MIguel who are amazingly friendly and helpful. There's plenty more that's good too, especially the terrace overlooking the ocean, and the breakfasts which are excellent. There's usually a good vibe here, with friendly people on the terrace (mostly Germans as Sonia is half-German and has attracted a good following!)...
