I attended a wedding reception at the Red Door towards the end of August 2020. I’ve honestly never had a better time at a reception. The setting is beautiful. As you drive through the gate you can see Lough Swilly through the trees, with the water lapping up to the edge of the grounds. We were greeted with a choice of champagne or a variety of other drinks, and a selection of very tasty canapés. The meal was simply spectacular! A choice of three starters, I went for the goat’s cheese tartlet. The others looked just as good as mine was. The little bread rolls were delicious too. The big chunks of bread served with the soup were amazing, as was the soup. That was followed by a perfect lemon sorbet. I opted for the fillet steak which was served as I’d ordered it, accompanied by a succulent sauce and a mouthwatering mushroom slice. The potatoes and vegetables were delicious, but the chips stole that part of the show. Sadly, I couldn’t stay for dessert, but I know that trio would have been triumphant!! The red wine I chose was absolutely beautiful! A huge thank you to the delightful Frances and her staff, every one of them as charming and efficient as their manager.

We attended as guests with three close friends from Buncrana. What a delightful experience. We were welcomed and from the moment we arrived everything could not have been bettered. The ambience ,the food, the service and the wines were all top quality. This was without doubt the highlight of our trip to that area. We will be back and hopefully will have an overnight in your lovely accommodation as well. Thanks to all.

Recently had my first experience of the Red door. One of my good friends got married here last week. From driving into the grounds the views were breathtaking. The ceremony was held in a marquee on the lawn overlooking the sea. Afterwards the pre reception drinks were in the patio area, beautiful cocktails, fantastic canopies and impeccable service. The main dining hall was beautiful spacious and air conditioned - staff were very attentive to ensure we were never too cold as we sat directly beneath the vent. Menu choices were amazing and tasted devine. Have never had a nicer meal at any wedding before and the portion sizes were perfect. I have another family wedding there in September and I can't wait to return.

The Red Door is a definite must eat at place. We booked very last minute and happily were fitted in. I started with Seared Scallops- they were superb, my partner had the duck with watermelon - again so tasty. My main was Trio of Fish - each fish on a different base, scrumptious, my partner had the Donegal Lamb - it was succulent. The desserts were lovely too. The staff were pleasant and helpful the surrounding are lovely. A nice stroll after dinner is fully possible. The sunset over the Lough was stunning. They have a new outside eating area that looked so comfortable.

Booked Sunday Lunch to celebrate 2 family birthdays and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff are professional and the warm welcome always feels genuine. Setting is fabulous, food is stunningly good. The whole experience is faultless. The hard work by the staff certainly pays off. I cannot praise this place highly enough and I am extremely hard to please so give this a try you won't be disappointed I can promise you that.

This was just my 2nd visit to the Red Door. The weather was perfect for sitting outside under an awning. The view of Loughran Swilly was beautiful as we lounged on comfortable patio chairs and sofas We enjoyed a shared platter with wine while waiting for lunch. We all agreed that the choices were delicious and quite substantial. I’ve booked again to bring other friends.

My husband & I stayed in The Red Door last night & had dinner in the restaurant. We found all the staff to be extremely courteous & efficient from the time we entered the doors until we left. The food in the restaurant was first class & we were delighted with the meal. The bedroom was very comfortable & exceptionally clean - we were in Le Damask & the only negative point was that the bed was too small. It was a 4ft 6ins wide double bed & the room would certainly have allowed for a King sized or even Super King sized bed.

I would have thought to show the wine before opening could have avoided the mix up Absolutely no issue with server how she handled mix up The food was excellent y I had crab starter which was very flavoursome Had cod for main course and another outstanding dish My wife had lamb which she said was delicious Had rhubarb for dessert, again a lovely dish All members of group enjoyed their food Retired to lounge to listen to music and have a nightcap An most enjoyable night Thank you Red Door
