Plakias Bay Hotel is located at the eastern end of the beach road just a minute's walk from the best part of Plakias beach (which is also the clothes optional section). Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The owners and staff are delightful and the restaurant, open 3 nights a week when we stayed, is excellent. Highly recommended for...

My husband and I like authentic, non resort style hotels and Plakias Bay Hotel is just that. They offer all rooms with balconies of the ocean and town, wifi and air conditioning; no TV's. We booked for 2 nights and stayed for 9! Meals are offered on the terrace with views of the beach. Clean, comfortable rooms and friendly helpful...

We just drove to town with no real plans and saw the hotel shining like a beacon at the very end of the beach road. We were looking for somethung quiet but close enough to town...travelling with a two year old. They had a room for us that had a killer view of the bay and surrounding mountians. I personally...

This family run hotel overlooks the quiet end of Plakias Bay. We also went or walks in the countryside right next to the hotel. The weather for our stay was unseasonably chilly but we were provided with "the warmest room", extra blankets, and shown how to switch from air-conditioning to heating. The breakfast was excellent with both hot and cold...

We stayed here over Easter with a naturalist group. The rooms were clean with good views but quite small and basic. Food was fine - we enjoyed that it was local not international in style. Service was a bit variable with some long waits a couple of evenings over the holiday when extra staff were really needed. Location and position...

Facing the Libyan Ocean on the south side of Crete, we have discovered a little paradise called Plakias and Plakias Bay Hotel. Just back in Scandinavia after our sixth stay at the hotel over the past 10 years, we have again experienced all the tranquillity and hospitality we could hope for. Due to a late fight into Chania, we arrived...

We (2 adults and one 2-year old daughter) were at Plakias Bay hotel the last week of May 2013. The hotel and rooms are good quality for the price (low season prices). Room with enough space, good mattresses, good bathroom and nice balcony. Breakfast is ok, nothing special but different choices. We had lunch a couple of time and fish...

Came back yesterday after a wonderful week in Plakias. Plakias Bay hotel has the best location in Plakias, at the south end of the bay, with wonderful views of the bay and the town of Plakias itself. A bit of a walk to the center of Plakias (20 minutes?), but the beach is only one minute away. Four out of...

Things seem to have changed from the experiences of many reviews posted here. Perhaps things have changed at the Plakias bay Hotel. We found the owner, no sign of his wife, very unfriendly, no welcome on arrival and no thanks upon leaving after ten days, don't even know his name. His sons were helpful but not pro-active. Room very basic,...
