I visited this hotel with my two large dogs last week , after I had been forecd to cancel a provious reservation at short notice I cannot recommend this hotel too highly . It is perfectly situated as a base for a walking holiday or simply to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside by car The family owners are helpful ,... More

This was the fifth stop on our 1,600 km trip that stretched from Munich to Salzburg through the Alps up to the Black Forest and finally the Mosel region. We wanted to stay at places off the beaten path, away from the typical tourist locations but with a high degree of beauty and hospitality. We found it and more at... More

After visiting France and Belgium we decided to relax in the Black Forest. We wanted something simple and comfortable. We had all that and more at this hotel that belongs to the same family for generations. The room was spacious enough and very comfortable. The bathroom had all the amenities and, as everything else, was sparkling clean. When we asked... More

We had two fantastic nights in this beautiful hotel in the middle of the black forest. The facilities are great with a lovely swimming pool. We ate in the restaurant both nights and honestly felt it was some of the best food we had all honeymoon! The service was fantastic and the waitress was very polite. The room had a... More

We have spent 4 nights here in our short recharging 'honeymoon' after our wedding. The best feature of this hotel is that even though it is small in size, they will act in any way to what you would expect of a hotel of greater size. This way, you are guaranteed to receive a great service, while getting it in... More

Let me state upfront that I was booking all the way from India and was very nervous to say the least what I would face for my 4 nights here .. .but gundi and her team really made my trip!! Fantastic room- clean, well maintained , sparkling property, yet no clinical feel. It was like an immaculately kept home !... More

My partner and I visited this hotel once again for my 'big 50' birthday and again we were not disappointed. We were made very welcome by Gundi Armbruster, as always. The rooms have great view of the forest and are extremely comfortable. The food exceptional and varied wines. It is ideally located for travelling around the Schwarzwald and would recommend... More

We have been staying here at least twice a year since 2001. The rooms, food, amenities are all top notch. Centrally located, many Black Forest sights are no more than 1 hour away. The hotel really lights up during winter. The indoor pool and sauna are icing on the cake. Now if only the could get another dog to replace... More

The hotel is a typical old Germany building and all common areas as we. However, when you have the luck to have a brand new, redesigned room, you are entering a total different era. The room is very clean and modern designed. All the necessary is available, a flatscreen TV, good furniture and a great bed. Also the bathroom is... More

We recently spent a weekend at the Hotel Ochsenwirtshof. While overall, the experience was adequate, there were a few small issues which added together. First off, the location is somewhat deceptive. It is described as “looking out onto the beautiful river Wolf,” with a photo of the river in the foreground and the hotel sitting right up close In reality,... More
