Stayed three nights in an upper floor double room with air-conditioning for INR 2,100 per night (room only). Family running the guest house were friendly and helpful, in particular the young man who helped us navigate to the guest house from the Hampi Bazaar Gate and who was always cheerful, happy and smiling. Room was basic but comfortable, beds Ok and typical Indian bathroom facilities. Powerpoint for charging worked Ok however we found out the hard way you could not have the hot water and the air-conditioning on at the same time - otherwise it tripped the power to the a/c. Which then had to be reset by the proprietor who wasn't always there. Also the hot water didn't stay hot for very long. Guest house position is good and you can get good views across Hampi from the top floor. Be aware that the stair access to all rooms is narrow and a touch steep, so mobility impaired people could have some trouble. Also there is no parking for a car here, the lanes are too narrow - try it and your car will be damaged (don't ask us how we know). Slightly costly at this price point, but would stay here again.…
The location of the room is in middle of the hampi market and pretty convnient to go around hampi. i stayed on the first floor, the room has no windows so we came outside in eve you can go on the terrace also to chill.
Pros: *on the quieter side of the river. Cons: * expensive *no Windows in the room *we had to pass thruogh the family's living room to get to our room. We stayed there on our first night in hampi after arriving on the night sleeper bus. The owner took advantage of the late hour and charged us about 300 rupees more. We only stayed 3 hours there and left to another place, and he charged us as a full day.
Stayed in a lovely room for 3 nights ,both host and family have been amazing and helped with a tuk tuk problem !! Would advice a stay here and if we were to come back to Hampi ,would stay again ! Be careful of the tuk tuk drivers in hampi when arriving as they are over whelming first thing and just want to make as much as possible. All we learnt from our wonderful host .
Guest house is very basic and even the "deluxe" rooms cannot be called like that. Hot water is available only via bucket shower - real shower is cold water only. Coffee and breakfast aren't good, better go to restaurant next door. My advice would be not to stay in a basar guest house, better across the river: better and cheaper accommodation and food options available.
