This was our third destination in our Transtrek safari. We arrived after a 5 hour drive from Meru and were welcomed with warm towels and a fruit drink. We had a hasty lunch which was probably not the best of the meals we had here as it seemed to have been reheated. A delightful guided walk in the forest was...

This being, apart from the Mount Kenya Safari Club, the only accommodation that high up on Mt. Kenya, has to be ranked special. Set overlooking a waterhole is this wooden structure now part of the Serena stable and it shows. I remember the days when AT&H run it, or ran it down and the giant task by the new owners...

Wonderful Hotel (though a distance from the main road), serenity, wonderful staff, amazing food, worth every penny spent. Lots of wildlife at the watering point though the variety is limited, wish I stayed longer to see more. Wonderful reception on arrival inclusive of a cold tower and a cooling drink. The staff was very helpful to ensure our stay was...

Stayed here one night of our photo safari. VERY rustic. Rooms are small and bath is tiny. Staff is somewhat accommodating but the Nature Walk was informative and lovely. They are currently in a drought so the path was dry instead of mucky. They serve tea in the forest complete with "brown milk" some sort of alcoholic brandy. The guide...

A beautiful quiet place ideal for 1 to 2 nights. Great food and service. Rooms are small but ideal for the cold weather. The only complaint we had was there were so many small children who were making noise which probably scared away the animals from the watering hole.

Four star service in a three star lodge is our experience. The main question is whether we would consider a return trip and which we would not. The rooms are small with terrible showers and the louvre windows make the rooms exceptionally cold. As mentioned previously, the construcion allows a lot of noise to filter from the neighboring rooms Most...

This is a good weekend get away that allows you to experience Mt.Kenya, be the comfort of your room. Accommodation is in non-invasive timber cabins set up with balconies that face both the Mountain and an animal great drinking hole - talk about armchair tourism.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are quite snug with extremely thin walls. We were next door to friends so we had fun with it, but might not be so fun with strangers you don't wish to have conversations with in the privacy of your room. Overlooking the watering hole was my favorite, along with the underground...

This well kept Mountain Lodge is located within the Mount Kenya National Park with wildlife literally on your doorstep. The wildlife trek guided by local ranger was a true highlight, we had the opportunity to walk in true wilderness. All rooms have a private balcony facing the waterhole where animals gather to drink. There is also a below ground level...

Chilly place. Reflective environment where you forget what you see daily. A place where human and wildlife lives harmoniously. All rooms facing the water point giving a person an excellent view of wildlife grazing around day n night. Loved being woken up at midnight to see some hogs which were grazing around (the size of hippos. ) All the staff...
