My husband and I were so looking forward to coming to Jordan. We were at the airport in Egypt ready to check in and we’re told that Jordan banned all flights coming from Egypt so our ticket to go to Jordan was voided. We called the hotel right away given that they are located there and we were sure that they, “OFF ALL PEOPLE,” would understand our situation. The man on the phone INSISTED there was No ban and said they couldn’t give us a refund. We sent them a copy of the ban coming from the ACTUAL AIRLINE WEBSITE along with the link. The man on the phone said, “you woke me up from my sleep”, sounding so irritated. I mean, what the heck is going on? I’ve never had to deal with such unprofessional people. We called again the next day and they kept insisting that the ban starts 2 days later (which does not apply for us, because we are coming from Egypt and the ban on Egypt was done immediately). I don’t know if they have uneducated people working there or what. We were planning to rebook once all of this Coronavirus calms down, but I will never book with this place, “EVER”. Long story short... hotels.com still gave us our refund; because clearly, they know how to read and keep up with the news. You will get a good grasp of professionalism given these situations and the lack there of of this establishment is beyond me. ALL of the hotels we booked from in Jordan gave us a full refund with no questions asked EXCEPT for this HORRIBLE place. Book with caution, I felt compelled to write this review to warn all of you about this place. I’m so glad there was a travel ban, I can only imagine how there are in person.…
I was uncertain whether I should give 3, 4 or 5 stars. Everything was fine, but staff was very pushy to try to convince us to have dinner there (the best food in the country, apparently), and also to use their taxi driver with insurance for 20 JD more than we would have paid elsewhere. Just be assertive and get things done your way. Overall, I think they deserve 4 stars. Hotel was fine, breakfast was average, and room was fine too. Can improve on service a little bit, then 5 stars would be appropriate. Very expensive for what it is, but here you pay for the location.
we stayed here 2 nights. This is a basic bed and breakfast but the staff were lovely and so friendly and wanted to make sure we were always happy. Instead of going out for dinner after a long day the hotel asked what we wanted and brought this to us which was really appreciated.
A first rate hotel in Wadi Musa. Easy walk to the entrance to Petra from here--it's less than one kilometer away. Off-street parking is available directly across the street from the hotel. Rooms are exceptionally modern and clean. Decent wifi. Plenty of hot water. A good breakfast with home-cooked omelets along with a buffet. Altogether a great small hotel with friendly owner and staff. Strongly recommend it.
It was really amazing to stay in this hostel. It was clean, comfortable, staff was really friendly and helpful. 100 recommended. If we will come back to Petra - we will come back to Shaquilath hotel for sure.
