My wife and I stayed over at LaGoa en route from Vilankulo to South Africa on the recommendation of a friend. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the cottages are inventively built. Leonardo is a warm and friendly manager. That said, LaGoa is not for everyone. First of all, the cottages are often half open so not only is privacy...

Lovely, very quite place with calm water. We stoped there to spend night in camp on our way back to Maputo from Vilankulo. We were traveling with two small kids (1 1/2 and 7 years) and they enjoyed very much playing in lake, mixed with sea.

I paid 1700 MZN for one night (a person) to "enjoy" a horrific polyester sheets. Unique lighting for the room and the bathroom were two kerosene lamps (they had a problem with the electrical installation of solar panels). Do kerosene at an eco-lodge? The mosquito net for the bed, very nice but useless in the paradise of mosquitoes. I woke...

The booking the night was totally painless, the manager was extremely helpful and friendly. We had arranged a late check because we were on our way north and needed a bed for the night. It should be noted that Lagoa Eco village is NOT a lodge but merely a very basic group of grass huts. The beding, mosquito nets were...

I ended up there without knowing hardly anything about the place . But it turned out to be spectacular. I am not an ecofriendly tourist. The place overviews a lake, and if you go for a short walk you’ll end up in a beach with no one (nice swell for surfing). Having both lake and sea the place is double...

We had a great 3 nights at LaGoa. Some very nice and imaginative rooms built around the trees. The 7km dirt track to the lodge is well sign posted and is manageable in a 2wd. There is a bridge towards the end that was washed away but Victor comes to get you with a canoe and has somewhere safe to...

I stayed at LaGoa on my way from Tofu to Maputo. While Tofu is almost nothing else but hotels at LaGoa you can be out of the main tourist areas and get a glimps of the local village life. I was there during low low season and I was the only guest. The manager was really nice and gave me...

We enjoyed the place tremendously. It is very well designed, with each architectural detail receiving a lot of attention, each piece of furniture designed and produced locally (unlike many "ecolodges" where you can feel everything comes from thousands of miles away). The lagoon was only a few seconds away. Victor's Matapa and chicken were delicious, and we also spent some...

If you travel through Mozambique, this place, 20 minutes from the main road gives you the possibility to feel, smell and touch and see what Mozambique is like. The resort is part of a bigger concept, which Niels the owner has started eight years ago. It is a must to stay a few days at this place, with a big...

My six year old son and I spend a week in this unspoiled bit of heaven in may 2011, and we loved every minute of the peace, beauty and traquility of the place. If luxury is what gets you going, go somewhere else. But if you appreciate a beautyfull blue lagoon with shallow water, sunsets out of this world, roustique,...
