We spent three week at this wonderful place. A lovely bungalow by the beach with sunset just outside every day. Very friendly and serviceminded staff, especially Nong in the restaurant. Beautiful and calm beach and great to swim. Not clear enough to snorkel but many possibilities for that if you take boattrips over the day. No shops or bars and no traffic or noise. Only the sounds of the waves, cikadas and som longtailboats now and then. Perfect for you who wish to relax and enjoy beachlife with adventures just around the corner as all excursions included pick-up at the hotel.
Overpriced 3 star resort. Location is quite remote and the beach has a lot of rocks. Pool access rooms are great. But the mattress was rock hard so you need to be okay with that. Breakfast was disappointing and we had to go next door to get a decent cup of coffee
We stayed here for 5 days. Ebbs and flows are present, not at any time of the day you can swim. The best thing in this beach- you can have lunch or dinner directly on beach front line, hearing the sea breeze. One strange thing is the sounds of some crickets, it's like a constantly on fire siren
Quiet, calm and relaxing place with amazing bungalows ON the beach and a beach that is very kid-friendly. Great place to visit with small children. Staff and service was GREAT. A few hotels along the beach if you want to try different restaurants and only 20 min. drive to Ao Nang city.
We ate at the beach restaurant during our stay at another hotel in the resort I ordered chicken massaman soup. When it arrived I noted the skin was uncooked and gelatinous only to find when I removed it a completely raw chicken thigh underneath We had our drinks sent back the good and left sharply. The staff were not even apologetic and tbh could have dine with clean uniforms on themselves. Very very disappointing
Positives- The location was beautiful, the views!! So Lovely and quiet, our pool access room was great especially as it was pretty quiet when we stayed in November so it almost felt like a private pool. Staff were welcoming and welcome drinks were provided on arrival. Lovely small selection of nice restaurants near by. If you are up for a big hike it is right next to dragon crest mountain trail (wear walking boots and take plenty of water). They had a small mini bar in the room with reasonable prices which we used. The housekeeping staff were always super lovely and kept the place spotless. They had kayaks and paddle boards you could use for free for an hour each day. We were taken to and picked up from our rooms to help us with our luggage and we were allowed slightly late check out free of charge and they stored our luggage for an additional hour until our taxi picked us up Negative- It was quite a remote area, even some tour operators added additional fee's to pick you up. You could get private longtail boats from outside though if you are willing to spend a little more. There was no local shop near by to get essentials so would need to get a taxi ect and I think it was about 15min drive away. The food was ok, breakfast had limited selection each day everything was pretty much the same, although there was always someone to make eggs however you wanted. We ate at the hotel for tea once and the food was quite westernized, this may be a positive for some though. No entertainment at night if that's what you are in to. There was building work going on (which you could hear in the day time) this ment you entered via the beach with a temporary hut as reception. Which didn't give off the most luxurious vibe. I can imagine once the building work is complete it will feel totally different. It was about 25mins in a taxi from ao nang and taxis were reasonably expensive compared to other areas. Overall enjoyed our stay but not the best value for money, we had splashed out on the room as it was our honeymoon but felt a little disappointed as the room was a little bit tired. I'd have definitely given a higher star if it was not for the cost.…
We initially booked a hotel in Krabi but we upped the hotel to a more remote area and better hotel, the Tup Kaek Sunset Hotel. Overal, we were a little bit disappointed. The beach and view are stunning. The beach has only 4 or 5 hotels of which this one is the least luxurious, to our feeling. Be aware! During our stay, the hotel reception was being renovated so we arrived via the beach to a reception hut. They are also building a big new building so the occasional drilling can not be avoided. The arrival didn’t give the wow feeling, especially because of this temporary building and the way leading to it. No welcome drink or anything to compensate for the work being done. It is low season so there are not many people. The receptionist told us that tourism is at 20% compared to pre-covid. A plus for us. It is nice and calm. But the downside was that for the three days we stayed, breakfast was a la carte, no buffet. It felt really post covid, clearly showing this is an older complex and 2 years of no business did the place no good. We stayed three nights in two pool side rooms. The primary reason was the pool. Not super modern but also not run down. The pool rooms look great and were great fun. The hotel offers free kayaks which is fun for an hour. Prices of food are 2,5 the normal and quality is average. There are little stalls in the area to buy snacks. We took a trip to Hong Island which was really great. We snorkeled in three places and stayed in 4 places. We book at the hotel for 5500 baht for 5 including lunch. Booking outside the hotel is cheaper. Towels and snorkels are included. The fee of 300 baht pp for the Hong Island is excluded. Make sure you take water shoes. Really beneficial. Make sure you take the snorkels at Hong Island. The boat driver didn’t say anything but it is actually the nicest place to snorkel. The hotel lunch was too little and weird. A cold burger, some fruit and one cola (enough water though) is too weird and too little for a trip from 08:00 to 16:00. But I do recommend to take the trip from the hotel contrary from Krabi. You have the boat alone and not cramped in with other tourist. Not do you need to wait for others to fill the boat quota to actually go/leave. We went to Raily Beach from Krabi and the experience was very different. The beaches are full(er) and you get less of a ‘bounty Island’ experience. Anyway, the views are stunning, really tranquil environment and glad we stayed but would probably pick a different hotel next time. Don’t forget to check the two restaurants we visited in this area.…
Stayed here for a night with my family spontaneously. The beach is stunning. The rooms were clean and simple. Loved the outdoor shower...haven’t seen one like this....good idea! Usually, outdoor showers are mosquito traps. The staff are so kind, helpful, and friendly. They go out of their way to smile, be pleasant, and to make one feel welcome. They helped our kids with paddle boards and even kicked the soccer ball around with them. Would come back here. This resort has the best piece of beach. As you go north, the hotels get progressively more expensive. This area is a gem. The hiking trail nearby was a pleasant surprise as well.
Luckily booked at Tup Kaek Sunset Beach Resort incl. breakfast for 3D/2N. with Special price offer for buffet dinner-party on the beach was preferred. Hotel staff, Khun Poo kindly arranged 1 day Phi Phi tour and 1 day Wat Tum Suea, Emerald pond, Hot spring pool tour, which made us a happy holiday-trip in Krabi. Also enjoying with lovely swimming pool and room’s balcony before check-out date. Highly Recommended!
Hotel located on beautiful, quiet beach with lush jungle behind. One small pool partly shadowed by trees. Other pool was long and had also swim-up rooms. Hotel was clean and staff very frienly. Breakfast was quite good and varied. Hotel restaurant located on the beach overlooking the sea. Sunsets were breathtaking. Very quiet hotel away from noice and crowds. I just wish there had been a shop on the hotel premises. Closest shop was around 2km away, but not walkable since road was narrow and dangerous to walk. Taxis were available, but fairly expensive. Also there were no tuk tuks. Closest town 5 km away if you wanted to eat somewhere else than hotel restaurant. 300 baht each way. Good restaurant offering in Klong Muang. Also massages were much cheaper there than on hotel premises.…
