I really enjoyed my stay at Heratage Marari. The place is surrounded by nature and is located next to a small river where you can go by canoe. You can walk to the endless beach in just a few minutes, and you are almost alone there. The manager was very welcoming and helpful. He helped us arrange day trips with...

We came for one day and we stayed 5 ! Bruce is at the top of quality of service ! He is always available to answer to all questions. The typical keralian homestay is very nice and confortable, beside a backwater that leads direct to the beach. Meeny is a very good cooker and we experienced with great pleasure keralian...

This wonderful cluster of traditional old houses on the Kerala Backwaters is a perfect place to spend a few days. My sketching group enjoyed so much: the serene and beautiful waterside setting, delicious food, warm personal hospitality, comfortable accommodation, evening canoe trip, walk to the beach within easy reach to see the sun setting over the Arabian Sea, visit to...

At the side of Arabian Sea, next to Kerala's Backwater, an excellent boutique hotel, that felt like home. Sought after and found in different places of India and brought here traditional wooden houses, which are perfectly and modernly equipped. Here we enjoyed the best coffee in Kerala, the nicest beds and last but not least the best traditional Kerala cuisine....

If you are looking to get away from the typical tourist resorts on your trip to Kerala, then Azheekans Homestay is the place for you. My partner and I booked to stay at Azheekans for 3 nights over Christmas 2015 but ended up extending our visit to 6 nights on account of enjoying ourselves here so much! The first thing...

My family had a great stay at Bruce's homestay during Xmas 2014. He is a very kind and considerate host, and the place itself is perfect if you like peace and quiet and home cooked Keralan food. The rooms/bungalows are air conditioned for the most part and were OK bearing in mind the heat. Not having a/c would be tough!...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Heritage Marari, a boutique resort with four traditionally built Keralian houses (Tharawad, restored and recreated) located ten minutes from Marari beach. The rooms have beds and furniture that we've sourced from traditional homes and the famed craftsmen of the region. Furnishings too rely on local materials, offset with linen, rough-woven cotton and other natural fabrics. Our promise is to provide as much care, comfort and peace you would get in a star-rated hotel, with the personal and sociable touch that is synonymous with Home Stays. Your host Bruce is always available to help you settle comfortably in your rooms. Being a local from a well respected family, he brings you tales of the bygone generations and can guide you through the soul of this fishermen's' village called Marari. Ours is the only property around Marari which is on the backwaters and has access to the beach directly by canoe and by foot. ... more   less
